We are living through one of these insane technological shifts that change whole societies. To understand it, you don’t need techbros on Twitter or the prompt-that LinkedIn influencer. What you need is good (practical, grounded in science) first principles. I work with people who are building a business because they genuinely care about something. I help early stage founders, solopreneurs, and experts to scale their business or personal brand in a context disrupted by artificial intelligence. My whole approach rests on one bet: when everyone has the same models, your vulnerable humanity is the last real competitive advantage. We learn to take the best out of the new tech (newly opening market gaps, smart visibility strategies, automated systems) without compromising our cognitive abilities or delegating our souls away. We prioritise joy, curiosity, and freedom, not the endless optimisation loop that befalls so many business owners. → PhD in AI (NYU) · Building AI products since 2014 → Principal AI Specialist at Gradient Institute, advising governments and companies on responsible AI → Serial entrepreneur: co-founded multiple startups, venture-backed and bootstrapped, built outstanding data science and product teams → Advised 100+ leaders, from scale-ups to global companies → Author of The Ethics of AI: Facts, Fictions and Forecasts (2021) → Guest speaker: Digital Data Design Institute at Harvard, different C-level private events, several podcasts, and others. → ~25,000 weekly readers on LinkedIn and Substack 🍷 If you’re a founder or a company in need of understanding how (and IF!) to integrate AI safely and responsibly, connect with my team at Gradient Institute. 🍷 If you’re a solopreneur or an expert in a niche service figuring out how to show up in AI search, message me for a consultation. 🍷 If you’re a professional figuring out how to exist in this fundamental technological shift we are all living through, welcome to my newsletter, Human Override.

Nothing better captures the current state of the AI race! Have a laugh and some Mad Max adrenaline this Friday. I searched a bit to find the original author, but this took off so fast on social media that I found it hard to track them down. Whoever you are - thanks for this idea! I laughed so hard on Zuck’s play 🤣🤣 For anything a little more thoughtful, consider checking out my free newsletter the Human Override: https://lnkd.in/gqZjkrxk
How do I get ChatGPT to recommend me? We are far from the only ones, of course. People will promise you "20 years of experience", "proven growth strategies"; it’s kinda funny. Because this has existed for 2-3 years, and nobody really knows how these systems work. I've built a few similar ones, and I have a PhD on the subject, so I know a thing or two. But let's be honest, we still guess. And then the model changes and we guess again. We're becoming good at guessing. We are an AI-native project, but we don’t fill your inbox with autogenerated crap. We keep the key parts human. Wonderfully human! We try things with our human hands and make sure strategies work before offering them to you. I prefer to be transparent about what I know and don’t know. This is an invite only private beta: DM me or drop a comment below and I reach out.
How-to: personal branding for AI search Your own website helps if you don't have one. But be mindful that it is the weakest evidence that you're good at what you do. At least, that's how AI sees it. When I checked which sources ChatGPT and Google use to describe me, the top two weren't mine. Gradient Institute, a non-profit .org. NYU, a .edu. My website came further down. AI engines, when asked about people, new brands and personal brands, run two checks: 1. Does this person ('entity' in the web optimisation jargon) exist? To check that, they look for consistent descriptions of the entity in more than one place. So, if that place is only one (your own website or a LinkedIn profile), it doesn't cut it. 2. Have you done what you say, and does someone other than you confirm it? Most founders and experts pass the first but fail the second without realising how important that is. I recently helped a senior leader whose only source was her own LinkedIn. She's done it all, C-level roles, board advisor, deep expertise in challenging industries, but when asked whether she was worth hiring, ChatGPT said it couldn't find enough reliable public information. She's very good at her job. The internet just didn't say so. So, here are proof points that make a dent: - a testimonial on your client's site, in their words - a page on your university's site - a speaker page that stays up after the event - someone else's podcast or YouTube describing you Often SEO agencies propose strategies based on volume of landing pages or blog posts on your website - aka slop grenades. It is widely shown that these posts are short-lived hacks that give you a spike in mentions for a few days only to crash the following week. One good university page can beat dozens of posts you wrote about yourself. So what would AI find about you if it ignored everything you wrote yourself? #AISearch #PersonalBranding (do tags still work? They say they no longer do, but let's try this out) PS - I'll share more of this journey optimising personal brands for AI search on my free newsletter.
