  • I need to tell you guys what happened Tuesday night…. I’m still processing it because like whattt. So basically 6 years ago I was the guy trying to figure out how the heck I was going to break into my industry. Anyone else been there too? Desperately reaching out to people, asking for coffee chats 😂 and even willing to stand outside corporate buildings just to be able to catch one of these guys and ask them a question or two. And nobody would give me the time of the day. But man how the tables have turneddd. Tuesday night, I was sitting in a room with VPs, Directors, and Founders of companies like FIS, Ticketmaster, MoneyGram, PayPal, Truist, Deconflict, etc. Make it make sense!!! 🤯 I will never stop thanking Tori Murphy, CRPS™ because I still don’t know why she invited little ole me to SardineCon but I took advantage and spent the night talking fraud, risk, compliance, fintech, and AI with some seriously impressive people. And honestly, I left thinking about something completely different. You really have no idea who’s watching. I started posting about the things I was learning because I genuinely enjoyed it. I wasn’t thinking about where it would lead. Then posts turned into conversations. Conversations turned into relationships. And relationships turned into opportunities I couldn’t have planned for. So who cares about the posts that get 2 likes and 1 comment….btw thank you mom. 😂 Because if you keep posting eventually it’ll lead to cool stuff like this. Big thank you to the Sardine team for the hospitality. Mama, we made itttt. Get your autographs while you can now…. Anyways let me get back to these dishes 😂 P.S. I drove 2 hrs and 40 mins from Houston to Austin and then another 2 hours and 40 back….the same day. Be honest, what’s the furthest you’ll go for a networking event?

  • Spent yesterday morning at the University of Houston Fertitta Center for the 9/11 Day of Service 25th anniversary. I had the privilege of serving as the group leader for 2 tables of Comcast employees, and let me tell you…..the energy in that room was unmatched. Together with hundreds of volunteers, we packed over 400,000 meals, turning a day of remembrance into real community impact. Leading two full tables of high-energy folks through an assembly line of packing, weighing, and boxing was easily one of the highlights of my week. It is easy to get caught up in the daily corporate grind, queues, and career goals. Days like yesterday are a great reminder that giving back, building community, and showing up for others is what really matters. Huge shoutout to the Comcast crew at my tables for putting in serious work. 🙌
