About Liuda Mekhed

Growth for early-stage AI startups in B2C | Writing about growth, career, personal finance, and navigating AI without fomo

I'm a growth leader with 9 years of experience — the last 6 spent building growth and marketing for B2C AI and mobile products in the Apple ecosystem. At MacPaw I took two products from zero to market: 1. Eney, an AI assistant for Mac (50,000+ waitlist users, 15,000+ actives, two launches in 8 months) 2. Setapp Mobile, a new iOS marketplace in the EU (10,000+ users in 3 months from scratch). Before that I scaled Promova at Genesis from early-stage to a top-10 US language app — 10M downloads, 3× MRR in 18 months, team from 0 to 20. Across all of it: I owned $10m+ budgets, 8 channels built from nothing — paid, influencer, CRM, ASO, community, organic — and always in the room where product, growth, and business strategy are the same conversation. I think like a founder — setting direction, challenging strategy, and building the growth engine end-to-end. Growth isn't just how I work. It's how I live. I write about building products, financial independence, and career on your own terms. Currently posting from Warsaw probably with a cup of filter coffee, previously lived in Barcelona and Bali. Follow along, or just say hi.

  • 0: Born in a village of 1,000 people in Ukraine. 15: Started learning English. 16: Got into lyceum. Chose History. 18: Moved to Kyiv to study marketing. 20: Joined Unilever. Learned how big corp works. 21: Almost got an internship at Google. Walked away. 23: Left for a mobile app startup as UA manager with zero playbook. 24: Head of Marketing at Promova, managed team of 23. 25: Quit tech. Left Ukraine. Moved to Bali. 26: Became a health coach, didn’t like it. Came back to tech anyway, moved to Barcelona. 27: Led marketing for Eney by MacPaw . Moved to Warsaw. 28: Joined Superapp as Head of Growth. Early-stage product, growth team of me and Claude. 6 cities, 4 countries, 5 companies and 10 roles within. I didn’t know what I was doing at the time, but it felt right. Every step gave me data for the next one — including plenty of failures to learn from. I’m 29 in a week. Cheers to the new chapter. And remember: better to do and learn than to overthink.

  • You can’t reinvent your life if you’re not willing to be bad at something again. Once you’ve achieved something, becoming a beginner again is the hardest thing to do. But if you want to grow or reinvent yourself — you have to get comfortable with it. 3 years ago I quit my tech job as Head of Marketing to become a health coach. My brain thought I’d lost my mind — like I was in danger. My identity and my sense of success were tied to that title. I changed everything at once, and my brain couldn’t adapt. I struggled mentally, and a year later I went back to tech. Here’s what I’d do differently: don’t throw away your old identity overnight. First, show your brain that being a beginner is safe — give it small wins and real experience. Become a beginner in something that has nothing to do with work: dancing, singing, tennis, a 1–2 hour side project on weekends. I played tennis yesterday. It’s hard, and I’m a total beginner, but I’m learning to enjoy this phase and stay curious. Slowly, my brain will start to trust me. That’s how it gets used to the idea that being a beginner and making mistakes is safe. Progress comes anyway. And then it carries that lesson into every other part of life, especially career. Where were you a beginner lately? Share you story please, im eager to read it.

  • Didn’t wanna post this, thought it’s cringe. Who even cares about my journey? As a result it’s my best LinkedIn post, reached 10k people and 80 beautiful souls joined my page. Thank you 🤍 Noticed that my best posts aren’t professional playbooks or so, it’s mostly my personal experience: career journey, life transitions, sabbatical, health tips for women etc. Real experience and personality is the one thing an AI model can’t fake. It has to be lived and earned, no other way around. What’s the post you never published because it’s cringe?

I handled $1mil budget a month for growing apps, but tbh the hardest part is to get users when you budget is limited and you don’t know where to start marketing you app. I’m so proud we launched Selfdrive today to help you get users on autopilot: - ASO - ASA - UGC creators in collab with @viral__app - AI SEO to be mentioned by AI All you need to get users after you built that app. Let’s get users 🙌
