About Marcel Velica

Cybersecurity Strategy & Risk Leader | Fractional CISO & AI Governance Advisor | B2B Tech Brand Partner |

Most cybersecurity and AI companies do not have an awareness problem. They have a trust problem. The market is noisy. The claims sound the same. The buyers are skeptical. And when trust is not built early, sales cycles get slower, objections get louder, and price pressure gets worse. That is where I help. I help cybersecurity, AI, SaaS, and enterprise technology companies turn complex ideas into executive trust, buyer education, and market demand. I combine real cybersecurity leadership experience with a trusted LinkedIn audience of CISOs, VPs, founders, GRC leaders, DevSecOps teams, and enterprise technology buyers. I help companies with: → LinkedIn thought leadership campaigns → Sponsored executive content → Cybersecurity and AI positioning → Buyer education narratives → AI governance and trust advisory → Speaking and executive storytelling The goal is simple: Make your company easier to understand. Easier to remember. Easier to trust. For partnerships, advisory, or speaking, message me here on LinkedIn.

  • 21 Cybersecurity Developments Security Teams Can’t Ignore The cybersecurity threat landscape is changing faster than most organizations can adapt. Attackers are no longer relying on traditional methods alone. They’re exploiting AI, trusted software, cloud sessions, human identity, and critical infrastructure to find new ways in. Here are 21 cybersecurity developments every security professional should be watching. → 1. AI Executive Impersonation Voice clones target senior executives. Finance teams face new fraud risks. → 2. Network Infrastructure Security appliance flaws expose networks. Critical systems become vulnerable. → 3. Stolen Session Tokens Attackers hijack authenticated sessions. Passwords may not be required. → 4. Ransomware Healthcare remains a major target. Essential services face disruption. → 5. Software Supply Chains Malicious packages compromise developers. Open-source risks continue growing. → 6. Admin Tools as Weapons PowerShell enables malicious activity. Attackers blend into normal operations. → 7. Post-Quantum Security Quantum threats drive new research. Organizations prepare cryptographic defenses. → 8. Industrial Systems Water and energy operations face attacks. • 5 Levels of Cybersecurity: Where Do You Stand? Most people want to become cybersecurity professionals. But they skip the one thing that actually makes them good at it: Getting their hands dirty. You don't become a cybersecurity expert by collecting certificates alone. You become one by understanding how systems work, breaking them in a safe environment, and learning how to defend them. Here's a practical roadmap from beginner to cybersecurity pro: 01. JUST STARTING → Learn the Basics → Linux → Networking → Python Build a foundation before trying to exploit anything. 02. BUILDING SKILLS → Explore & Practice → Nmap → Wireshark → Burp Suite Learn how to discover systems, analyze traffic, and understand web applications. 03. SECURITY LAB → Break • Exploit • Learn → Metasploit → SQLMap → John the Ripper → Hashcat Practice inside authorized labs. Learn how vulnerabilities work instead of just memorizing tools. 04. REAL-WORLD PRACTICE → Investigate • Discover • Defend → OSINT → Web Security → SIEM → CTFs This is where you start thinking like a real security professional. 05. CYBERSECURITY PRO → Secure • Build • Lead → Red Team → Blue Team → Research → Defense Choose your direction, deepen your expertise, and start solving real security problems. You don't need to master every tool before taking your next step. You need to understand one concept, practice it, and build on it. The best cybersecurity professionals aren't the ones who know the most tools. They're the ones who know how to think when the tools stop working. Save this roadmap for your cybersecurity journey. 💬 Which stage are you currently at Beginner, Building Skills, Security Lab, or Cybersecurity Pro? 🔁 Reshare this with someone starting their cybersecurity journey. ➕ Follow Marcel Velica for more cybersecurity roadmaps, tools, and practical learning tips.

  • Cybersecurity has a vocabulary of its own. And the more you work in the field, the more acronyms you encounter. ZTA. IAM. PAM. SIEM. SOAR. XDR. CTEM. Each one represents a different approach to protecting systems, managing access, detecting threats, or reducing exposure. The challenge isn’t memorizing the abbreviations. It’s understanding how these technologies fit together to strengthen an organization’s security posture. This cheat sheet covers 24 cybersecurity terms worth knowing. Which one would you add to the list? #Cybersecurity #InformationSecurity #CloudSecurity #CyberSecurityAwareness

Claude can do more than answer your prompts. What if you could teach it to follow your own workflow? That’s where Claude Skills get interesting. Instead of repeating the same instructions every time, you can build a reusable skill, test how it performs, and refine it until it delivers the results you need. And you don’t need an entire day to get started. Here’s a 60-minute workflow: → 5 min: Set up your workspace → 15 min: Build your skill → 10 min: Test real prompts → 10 min: Deploy and use it → 10 min: Refine the results → 10 min: Explore other skills The interesting part? Building the skill is only the beginning. The real value comes from testing it against real tasks and improving what doesn’t work. If you had one hour to build a Claude Skill, what task would you automate first? #ClaudeAI #ClaudeSkills #AIProductivity #AITools

Most companies are rolling out AI agents the way they rolled out shadow IT in 2012. Fast. Excited. With almost no visibility into what the agents actually do. For the past few weeks I've been running with @zenzap_chat parts of my own business on agents: inbox triage, CRM updates, payment reconciliation. I set up one agent and connected my Gmail and CRM. It took 90 seconds, with no code. I told it what I wanted, the way I'd brief a coworker. What it does now: My setup isn't one person talking to one bot. It's a shared chat where I work alongside three agents: → One runs deals: labels every thread, flags where I owe a reply, drafts follow-ups. 30 so far, none sent without me. → One runs finance: cross-checks payments against the CRM. It found collaborations I had never logged. → One coordinate: checks the other two's work and tells me only when something needs a decision. My inbox has been at zero every day since October. The 5 features that made it work: Agents inside the chat. My agent works in the same conversation as me, not in a separate tool. Approval cards. Sensitive actions wait for my tap before they run. Scheduled workflows. Recurring jobs like the morning follow-up check and inbox triage run on a schedule I set. Memory. It remembers my decisions and rules, so I don't have to re-brief it every day. App connections. Gmail, my CRM and my calendar, with access limited to what I choose. As a security leader, I cared about control more than speed: Visibility: the agent works in a chat where I can see every action Approval: I decide what it can access and what needs my sign-off Accountability: when something's missed, I know which task and when Agents don't just need to be capable. They need to be governable. If you're bringing agents into your team without losing control, start here: https://t.co/WTCLo2bSB6
