I am an international executive and independent adviser with nearly 30 years of experience across geopolitical risk, strategic intelligence, investigations, financial crime, governance and international business. My career has taken me through law enforcement, international organisations, consulting and multinational business leadership. I spent more than 14 years with the Metropolitan Police, progressing into specialist detective and criminal intelligence appointments, before moving into international consultancy and intelligence roles. My subsequent experience includes INTERPOL in Singapore, Country Head of Hill and Associates in Singapore, and Regional Director at Thomson Reuters across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. I have also led my own international consultancy and undertaken specialist counter-terrorist financing research for UNODC. My responsibilities have extended across operational leadership, commercial development, international investigations, strategic advisory and organisational management. At INTERPOL, I supported more than 20 multinational operations and negotiated an enterprise intelligence software agreement at an 80% discount. At Hill and Associates, I delivered more than US$1 million in consulting engagements and expanded the specialist practitioner network from 12 to over 70. At Thomson Reuters, I generated more than US$1.5 million in new business and developed relationships with over 350 senior decision-makers. I now operate independently under the trading name MB Ventures, advising boards, chief executives, investors and international businesses on geopolitical and socioeconomic risk, strategic intelligence, corporate investigations, governance, financial crime, market entry and international commercial strategy. My work also includes due diligence, capital readiness, strategic partnerships and institutional engagement. Alongside my advisory activities, I contribute to professional examination and education programmes with ACAMS and the International Compliance Association, participate in international expert networks and chair and speak at industry events. I am also the founder and host of MarksTalks, an independent interview and media project. Based in the United Kingdom and internationally mobile, I am interested in senior executive leadership opportunities and selected international advisory mandates.

If anyone wants the ultimate knowledgable connector and resource in Singapore and Asia, then there is no better person to speak with than Robin Lee 李显龙
From Street Life to Wall Street: Robin Lee’s Origin Story. The latest MarksTalks conversation starts in North London, where Robin Lee 李显龙 grew up navigating two very different worlds: estate life and education. Along the way came three jobs while studying, Blockbuster Video, the early mobile-phone industry, kung fu, influential mentors, King’s College London and, eventually, an opportunity that took him to New York and the Wall Street hedge-fund world. There are also some very funny moments, including the night a friend convinced a nightclub bouncer that Robin was Bruce Lee’s nephew. Then, just as the next stage of his career was taking shape, 9/11 changed everything. And this is only the beginning of Robin’s story. 🎥 From Street Life to Wall Street | Robin Lee’s Origin Story Watch now on MarksTalks, only on YouTube. What part of someone’s early life do you think has the greatest influence on where they eventually end up? #MarksTalks #RobinLee #WallStreet
What happens when old-school corporate intelligence collides with AI, deepfakes and modern social engineering? Alex Bomberg, F.ISRM, MSyI has spent more than two decades building businesses around security, intelligence and risk. His route there was anything but conventional. In this episode of MarksTalks, Alex talks about growing up in a fostering family, being expelled from school twice, finding his way into corporate security, covert surveillance in early-2000s London, working with Formula One teams and governments, taking his business internationally, the realities of entrepreneurship, and why artificial intelligence and deepfake technology are creating a very different security problem. We also get into the increasingly plausible scenario of a finance team receiving a convincing video call from a senior executive who is not actually there. Alex also discusses leadership, family, resilience, recognising commercial opportunities, and the lesson he wishes he had understood earlier in his career. In this conversation: Corporate intelligence and surveillance Building an international business Formula One and government clients Entrepreneurship and risk AI and deepfakes Social engineering and executive impersonation Leadership and family Finding opportunities in new markets Subscribe to MarksTalks on LinkedIn and #subscribe and #like @markstalks on YouTube for more conversations with people whose careers rarely followed the obvious route. #AlexBomberg #ArtificialIntelligence #CorporateIntelligence 00:00 Who is Alex Bomberg? 00:33 Growing up in a fostering family 01:03 Expelled twice and finding a different way to learn 02:36 Why young people need role models 03:37 Breaking into corporate security 04:22 What it really takes to become a CEO 05:46 The old security industry 07:01 The Wild West of London surveillance 08:13 Building a reputation in corporate intelligence 09:06 The buzz, the money and changing the business model 09:52 Taking the business international 11:15 The realities of entrepreneurship 12:13 AI, deepfakes and the new security problem 15:58 When AI meets social engineering 16:42 Could someone fake your CEO? 19:32 Leadership and learning to say no 20:11 Spotting commercial opportunities 20:45 Alex's best advice for business leaders
