I teach designers how to design, build and ship with AI | [email removed] | 20 yrs in design | Product Designer turned Builder
I help product designers advance their careers by learning to build products with AI. After 15 years designing products, I discovered something: Designers who can ship their ideas without engineering teams earn 30-40% more and have way more career options. Now I'm building products full-time using AI tools and teaching 100K+ designers to do the same. 🛠️ My Current Stack: - Design to Code: Lovable, Bolt, Cursor AI - Backend: Supabase, Firebase - Design: Figma, Relume, Framer - Deployment: Netlify, Vercel - AI: Claude, GPT for prompting ✍️ What I Share Here: - How AI building skills advance design careers (weekly) - Real product development updates (build-in-public) - Lovable, Cursor, Bolt tutorials and workflows - Designer-to-developer transition strategies - Career advice for the AI era Why this matters for your career: → Companies increasingly want designers who ship, not just hand off → Side projects that actually work beat portfolio mockups → AI removed the barrier between "design" and "deployed product" → Designers with building skills command higher salaries What I believe: → You don't need to "learn to code", you need to learn to prompt → Portfolio projects should be real, working products → AI building is the biggest career accelerator for designers right now → The best way to learn is by shipping Let's connect if you're: - A designer curious about building with AI - Learning Lovable, Cursor, or similar tools - Interested in career advancement through new skills - Building products as a solo founder Brands: I run sponsored posts and newsletter placements. Craft is a hobby now. You do it after hours, on your own product. Type, spacing, colors, motion. The details you got into design for. It's like this part of design stopped existing. You now have very little space to focus on craft. You're focused on: • Reviewing screens you didn't draw. • Approving output you'd have built differently. • Explaining to a PM why something "looks off". • ... Try to ask for a day or two dedicated to craft. Good luck! But you shouldn't give up. Make a space. If not during work hours, do it after. Start a side project. The one product where nobody asks, "Can't AI just do this?" Keep making things! The job kept the title. The craft moved out. From your work. Not from your life! ✌️ Can you relate?
AI in a chat window doesn't work for visual thinkers. And most designers I know think visually. I do too. So I figured out a workaround. When you brainstorm or do research with AI, you end up with one long column of text. AI is great for thinking but terrible for seeing the shape of your thinking. So I started using the following workflow. After a brainstorm with Claude, I use a chat-to-Miro skill and bring the whole conversation to a Miro canvas. Decisions, questions, killed ideas, flowcharts, tables. Each part in its own format. The skill guides Claude on which formats to use and when. Claude likes to default to sticky notes a lot. Grab the skill here: https://lnkd.in/ggr5gxzh It runs on Miro's MCP: https://miro.pxf.io/k41LMM On the canvas, I notice more gaps and get more new ideas, questions, and problems I would have missed in the chat. When I used it the first time, it reminded me of how we worked before AI. I miss it. It's what I loved most when I started in design. Sticky notes on a wall, sketches, arrows. Thinking with my hands. There's one more thing a canvas does better than chat. It's easier to share and build on with others. Be honest. Nobody will read a wall of text in a chat you shared with them. Are you a text thinker or a canvas thinker? ✌️ #MiroPartner #AIworkflows #ContextEngineering
I used to hate making stakeholder decks. But now AI builds 80%. I tweak the rest. We present our designs to stakeholders and get their decisions all the time. Why not build an AI workflow for it? So, I tried it. Goal: create a stakeholder review deck based on: 1. Context in a Miro Canvas 2. Designs in Figma The deck will be built in Pitch Note: context in my project lives in Miro, but other tools like FigJam or Notion will work as well. They just need to support MCP. AI gets a brief, a link to Miro, a link to Figma, and the Pitch template name so the output stays on brand. I've created a skill for that, so it's easier to reuse. Drop me a line in the comments or DM me. I’ll send you the link. (𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰.) Then it figures out the deck structure and sends instructions to Pitch. You get a draft deck in 5 minutes. As Pitch MCP is bidirectional, you can also tell AI to make any tweaks on your behalf, or ask Pitch Agent directly in the app. The result I got was great, and required just a few tweaks here and there, copy rewrites, and adding 1-2 new slides. This workflow saved me time that I could use to do more of the things I love doing. That is how I prefer to use AI. ✌️ What part of deck-making would you hand to AI first? #PitchPartner #VibeDesign #ProductDesign
