Y Combinator Paris Builds Hackathon Winner 🏆 — Software for Agents track. I slept almost 0 hours this weekend. Worth it. This weekend, our team of five joined the Y Combinator Paris Builds hackathon, alongside ~200 builders from all over europe and 45 teams competing across AI agents, robotics, and “build the next decacorn.” We chose the Software for Agents track. From Saturday 10am to Sunday 5pm, we built, broke things, rebuilt, pitched, iterated, and kept going. No sleep. A lot of coffee. A lot of debugging. Even more conviction. At the end, our project was selected as one of the top 5 finalists. Then we pitched again, in front of everyone, to a jury including people from Y Combinator and Qube Research & Technologies. Final result: 🏆 1st place — Software for Agents track 🏅 4th overall Huge shoutout to the GOATs: Yusu Chen, Ecem Guvener, Gabriel Lancelot, Viktoriia Matviiuk The next day, I went to Y Combinator Startup School Paris at Station F, with ~600 founders, builders, and investors. We had a 20-minute meeting with Nicolas Dessaigne from Y Combinator, who gave us direct advice on what to focus on next. This is just the beginning. A massive thank you to Unaite and the whole team behind the event. The energy, organization, and people were just insane. I can’t tag everyone haha, but you know who you are.
We flew back to the US just for this... And we won. The Antler x bolt.new Hackathon had one major prize: an Antler investment interview. The competition happened in 2 stages. During our first trip to the US for Startup School, we competed against 15 startups and took 1st place. That qualified us for the final, which meant flying all the way back to the US. It was a bet. A big one. More than 50 startups had qualified for the final. Only 9 made the cut to pitch. And we won again. Suddenly, the entire trip felt worth it. The people were incredibly kind. Everyone genuinely wanted to help. And most importantly, people were excited about Barkan. A huge thank you to Antler (Ryan Green), bolt.new, Apify, and n8n for making this happen. I’m also incredibly happy to share that we are now joining the Antler residency ! We’re still onboarding a few companies at a reduced price. Barkan adds a powerful AI chatbar directly inside your product. It can onboard users, guide them through the app, and complete tasks on their behalf. The result: less churn, fewer support tickets, and more upsell opportunities. If you want to try Barkan inside your product, send me a message.
