🔵 20 Statistics Concepts Every Data Analyst Should Know You don't need advanced statistics to become a good Data Analyst. But you do need to understand the fundamentals and know when to use them. 🔵 BASIC STATISTICS 1. Mean, Median & Mode → Understand the typical value in your data. 2. Range & Percentiles → Understand where your data points fall. 3. Variance & Standard Deviation → Measure how much your data varies. 4. Distributions → Understand how values are spread across your dataset. 🔵 CORRELATION & RELATIONSHIPS 5. Correlation → Measure how strongly two variables move together. 6. Covariance → Understand whether two variables change together. 7. Correlation ≠ Causation → Avoid assuming that one variable causes another. 🔵 SAMPLING 8. Population vs Sample → Know the difference between the full group and a subset. 9. Sampling Methods → Understand how sampling can introduce bias. 10. Sampling Distribution → Understand how sample statistics behave across repeated samples. 🔵 HYPOTHESIS TESTING 11. Null & Alternative Hypothesis → Convert a business question into a statistical test. 12. P-value → Understand the evidence against the null hypothesis. 13. Confidence Intervals → Estimate a range instead of relying on a single number. 14. Type I & Type II Errors → Understand false positives and false negatives. 🔵 PRACTICAL TESTING 15. A/B Testing → Compare two versions using data. 16. T-test → Compare the means of two groups. 17. Chi-square Test → Test relationships between categorical variables. 18. ANOVA → Compare the means of multiple groups. 🔵 REGRESSION 19. Linear Regression → Understand relationships between variables and make predictions. 20. R² → Understand how much variation in the outcome is explained by the model. The goal isn't to memorize every formula. The real skill is knowing- What question am I trying to answer? Which statistical concept can help me answer it? That's what makes statistics useful in real-world Data Analytics. 🔵 LinkedIn LinkedIn Learning Saurabh Rai
