We hosted the first edition of Nasiko AMA Hours with Alexandre Therrien, an experienced software engineer Intact and Rust contributor Rust Foundation, where we had an honest conversation about open source, Rust, GitHub, and building a long-term career through contributions. Here are a few key takeaways: • Your first contribution doesn't have to be code. • Small, consistent contributions create lasting impact. • Reading source code is one of the fastest ways to learn. • Documentation, testing, bug reports, and reviews are just as valuable as writing code. • Open source is about collaboration, not perfection. It was great to see developers and open source enthusiasts come together for thoughtful discussions and practical learning. The next leap in AI may be agents that learn from experience, not just better models. That’s what stood out at the Builder Mixer at Microsoft, where we explored how agent infrastructure, memory, and self learning can make this possible. We explored agent infrastructure, memory, browser agents, world models, and self learning systems. The key shift: agents that can remember, learn, adapt, and improve will go far beyond agents that simply execute. The demos, discussions, and perspectives from builders working on these problems gave us a lot to take back into our own research. A big thank you to the Nasiko ecosystem and Nikhil Shekhar, SPHR® for consistently pushing us to learn, evolve, think bigger, and build for the future. Grateful for the conversations, ideas, and perspectives that challenged our thinking and gave us plenty to take forward.
