About Tejas Machado

Marketing @O’Hara Technologies | Creator → #90secondsmarketing & The Company Decoder Newsletter

A strategist skeptical of marketing that sounds impressive but does nothing. So if it’s vague or built for slides, I tune out fast... Now that I have your attention... I’m a lead Go-To-Market working in a B2B manufacturing environment, focused on turning complex products into clear, market-ready stories that actually drive demand. If it's about how marketing works in the real world, not just how it’s explained in frameworks, well, I am already listening to you. Pipeline matters. Distribution matters. Execution matters more than clever taglines. That’s also why I run #90secondsmarketing, a short-form content channel where I break down marketing campaigns that actually worked, and explain why they worked. I don't go well with recycled theories or bias, but something that would drive that decision. I also write The Company Decoder, a LinkedIn newsletter where I decode: • Go-to-market strategies • Brand and growth decisions • Career lessons inside modern corporate teams (...with some of the blueprints I work on!) What drives me? • B2B marketing & GTM strategy • Campaigns designed for distribution • Borrowing smartly from B2C, tech, and creator-led growth • Marketing that performs along with your dashboard data If you are still here, here is what it is like to work with me. I bring operator thinking, not just ideas. I move comfortably between strategy and execution, and I care about outcomes as much as clarity. If you want someone who can think, build, ship, and explain why it worked, we’ll work well together. • I don’t know if I can call myself a creator yet. But I think I’m slowly becoming one. For the last few months, I’ve been making videos breaking down campaigns I find interesting. And doing this with a 9–5 is tough. (Like… actually tough) You finish work, come home, life happens. And then somehow you have to convince yourself to research one more story, write a script, set up the camera and talk to yourself for 45 minutes to get 60 seconds of usable footage :D Then you post it. And sometimes… hardly anyone shows up. I think that was the part I wasn't prepared for. It’s easy to make the next video when the last one did well. Making the next one when it didn’t? Umm... But slowly, something is changing. The videos are getting better. I’m getting faster. My cadence is improving. More people starting to engage, follow and tell me exactly WHY they enjoy these breakdowns and what they look to see next!! Nothing crazy. But enough to make me think…okay, maybe there’s something here. And somewhere along the way, this stopped being only about making marketing videos. I’m learning how to tell better stories. I’m getting more comfortable putting myself out there. And I’m discovering this creator side of me that I honestly didn't know I had. So I want to document this part too. Not just the campaign breakdowns. What works. What completely flops. How I find the time. What I’m learning. The numbers. The experiments. All of it. Not “I grew to 100K followers in 30 days” story here. (At least not yet!) Just figuring it out as I go. And if you’re building something on the side too, maybe we can figure some of it out together.

  • Who feels guilty here when you take your time to reply to your mom's text? 🤚 Vodafone turned that tiny behaviour into an entire campaign. In Australia, they found real parents whose kids had moved away to university and put their faces on giant murals near university campuses. “Did You Get My Mural?” Funny, yes. But what I liked more was where the idea started. Not: “How do we advertise a student phone plan?” But: “What happens between parents and their kids when they’re away from home?” Parents message. Kids don’t answer. Parents worry. Take that tiny human truth and exaggerate it until it’s impossible to ignore. And suddenly Vodafone doesn’t need to force the product into the idea. Because what do they sell? Connection!! Maybe that’s a useful test for campaign ideas: If you removed the logo, would the idea still make sense coming from this brand? For Vodafone, I think it does. P.S. Reverting to my mom's text RN :/

  • How do you market against a competitor… before they even launch the product? Samsung just gave us a pretty clever example. Ahead of Apple’s foldable launch, Samsung started putting up: “Welcome to Foldables.” I love the word welcome here. Because They’re not saying, “Apple’s product is bad.” They’re essentially saying: “Oh, you’re doing foldables now? Welcome. We’ve been here.” That’s a completely different competitive position. Instead of allowing Apple to frame its entrance as the beginning of something new, Samsung positions itself as the brand that has already been building the category. That’s counter-marketing I can get behind. And this was only what Samsung did before the launch. What happened on launch day deserves a Part 2!!
