About Vishal Bagla

I build products at AmbitionBox and write about how AI is changing the way PMs work. 68K+ people read along, and Favikon ranks me #6 among India's PM creators. My day job is VP of Product, leading the B2B employer side of AmbitionBox (Info Edge / Naukri). That covers monetization, product, sales enablement and customer experience. A few numbers from that work: 1/ 30 lakh to 1 crore+ monthly users in 5 years 2/ Our first paid product, 0 to 1,000+ paying clients in year one 3/ Info Edge Platinum Award for Best Project of the Year (2026), and the Exceptional Achiever Award (2023), given to 15 of 6,000+ employees I came to product the long way around. Engineering at Delhi College of Engineering. Then the first PGDBA batch at IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata. After that came Evalueserve, Oracle and American Express, where I built an NLP model that grew the target loan base by 1M+ customers. Then consulting at Alvarez & Marsal for Fortune 500 clients and PE firms. 2 EdTech startups taught me how products actually get built. At INDmoney I launched a mutual fund tracker that read straight from AMC statements and took accuracy from 85% to 99.8% in 6 months. Outside work, I write and teach. Thought pieces on Product × GenAI here, and longer ones at vishalbagla.substack.com. I have mentored 5,000+ students and professionals, and guest lectured on AI and product at IIT Roorkee, IIM Calcutta, IIM Mumbai and NMIMS. What I write about: AI products and LLMs · Product strategy · Monetization · B2B SaaS · Product-led growth · PM careers Want to talk product or AI? • People often ask me how to get their first PM interview call. My honest answer is that most applications are sent to the wrong roles with the wrong resume. The resumes I see usually have the same issues. Two-line bullets. Numbers hidden mid-sentence. The same version sent to a fintech role and a SaaS role. And when the interview comes, the candidate has never used the company's product. I am running a 90-minute live masterclass that fixes these with AI, step by step. You leave with actionable strategy, reusable prompts that will 10x your job search. Sunday, 18 October | 10:30 AM to 12 PM IST | Live on Zoom DM me "PM" and I will send you the link. Share it with someone who has been applying for months and hearing nothing. #ProductManagers #ProductManagement #Hiring #JobSearch #Masterclass
