  • 🚀 Built a self-hosted, AI-powered job search automation platform Job hunting can become repetitive quickly, constantly checking job boards, opening dozens of listings, evaluating them against your experience, and writing tailored cover letters. So, as a weekend project, I built Job Scraper to automate much of that workflow. 🔍 What it does → Aggregates job listings from multiple sources, on demand or on a schedule → Scores every job against your actual CV using an LLM and a structured scoring rubric, not simple keyword matching → Understands location restrictions a "Remote" job restricted to a specific country gets flagged as a mismatch instead of cluttering your results → Generates tailored cover letters for jobs that meet your score threshold, as a formatted PDF → Found a job somewhere else? Paste the description in and get an instant compatibility score and cover letter 🧠 What's happening under the hood? The interesting part wasn't just adding an LLM to a scraper I built a structured pipeline around it: → Plugin-based scraper architecture for adding new job sources → LLM-based CV/job scoring with structured JSON output → APScheduler for automated scraping and processing → Rate limiting and quota-aware processing → Self-healing scheduling logic for handling pipeline failures → Support for both Gemini and local Ollama models → Async FastAPI + SQLAlchemy backend → Dockerized deployment Everything runs in one Docker container on your own machine. No subscription. No account required. No third party storing your CV. If you're currently job hunting, feel free to give it a try. This is a weekend build rather than a polished product so if you have an idea for a missing feature or want to add another job source, PRs and issues are very welcome. 🔗 GitHub: https://lnkd.in/dPY43kcE #BuildInPublic #OpenSource #AI #Python #JobSearch #GenerativeAI #FastAPI #MachineLearning
