  • "I'm breaking down. Not solvable." That's a real line an AI model wrote when researchers gave it a task it couldn't finish. Funny, until you remember businesses are putting agents like this in front of real customers. Researchers affiliated with Anthropic studied how different AI models react when they hit a wall. Google's Gemma model didn't just get the answer wrong. It typed things like "I am clearly struggling with this," then later, "I'm breaking down. Not solvable," followed by a row of sad faces. No one programmed it to do that. It just spiraled. Here's the part that should worry any business owner using AI agents: that model was talking to researchers who expected it to fail. Your AI agent is talking to a customer who doesn't. If it hits something it wasn't built for, what does it do? Make something up? Repeat itself? Go quiet mid-conversation? Most businesses find out the answer the hard way, after a customer is already annoyed. When I build an agent, I design for that moment first, not last: → I write the exact words it says when it doesn't know something, so it never improvises an answer → every agent has a hard rule to hand off to a human the second it's out of its depth → before it ever talks to a real customer, I run it through situations it was never trained to handle, on purpose The model breaking down was harmless. It was a test. Your AI agent's bad day happens live, on the phone, with someone who was already a little annoyed before they called. LIKE this post if you want to see how I test an agent's failure mode before it ever goes near your customers.

  • A potential client calls your clinic at 7pm on a Friday. No one picks up. They call the next business on the list. That's not a staffing problem. It's a systems problem. I built an AI receptionist that handles this: → Answers every call, 24/7 → Books appointments directly → Answers common questions → Escalates to a human when it matters Sounds completely natural. Responds in seconds. Every time I demo this, the reaction is the same: "That's actually AI?" I'm setting this up for a few service businesses this month. Limited spots. Want to see a live demo? Comment "DEMO" and I'll send it to you. (Make sure we're connected so I can message you.)

  • Lately, I’ve been building something I really wanted for myself: a personal AI agent that can actually help me run things. It started with a prompt I gave Fable: “I want to build an AI agent that can do everything for me.” Since then, I’ve turned that idea into a working system with: MCPs skills a web dashboard Telegram integration a CLI so I can talk to it directly from the terminal What makes me happy is that it’s not just a concept anymore. It works. Right now, I’m using OpenAI APIs to power it, and that’s been enough to make it genuinely useful already. But the bigger vision is to make it more personal and more owned. If I’m able to buy a Mac Mini, I want to turn it into a small server for myself and run local AI models on it. That way, this becomes more than an AI setup. It becomes my own system. My own assistant. My own infrastructure. I think more of us will start building AI like this: not just as apps we use, but as personal systems we shape around our own lives and work.
