Founder @ JustFix | Redefining home repair through AI + Human Service
For the past 25 years, I've navigated the dynamic world of entrepreneurship. Here's my story: I've had two exits, and helped many business owners grow by acquiring businesses and achieving successful trade sales or IPOs. Today, I am the Founder & CEO of JustFix: a tech company on a mission to modernise the home maintenance sector. But it all started for me in 1998, when I founded iChoose Radio, a forerunner to Spotify. It was also the first company to stream live from Glastonbury. By 2007, I had moved on from iChoose Radio and went on to co-found a new digital agency, Saint, which would go on to win agency of the year, twice, in 2011. In 2012, I joined a digital marketing agency called Weapon7 within the Omnicom network, where I assumed the role of CEO. At this time, I drove new business and won clients such as Bacardi and a little-known start-up called Headspace. Then, in 2016 I began a new career adventure with The Marketing Group Plc as CEO, where I focused on mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and business optimisation. 2021, I launched JustFix. My journey has been full of valuable lessons, and I'd love to share them with the world. Give me a follow if you're interested in: → Developing a Growth Mindset → Leadership & Culture → Productivity → Entrepreneurship & Start-ups → Merger & Acquisitions 👉 From an entrepreneur with 25+ years in the game.

This week's Growth Mindset is out: The hidden cost of moving faster I have been thinking about the decisions companies make when they want to move faster. The public version is simple: simplify, focus, accelerate. The harder truth is that speed nearly always has a cost. This week, the best stories were not about ambition itself, but about what leaders were willing to stop, change or risk to make it real. Inside this week's issue: – Big deals need more than scale – Diageo is choosing the winners inside itself – Etsy shows that speed is not a slogan – A pricing gift is still a strategy test – Specsavers knows its customer has grown up The full issue is below. Okta has agreed to acquire Permiso, an identity-security startup, for a reported $200m. What I find instructive is not the price, it is the precision. Permiso does one thing. It detects threats across human, machine and increasingly AI-agent identities. Okta is buying that exact capability, not a broad platform it would then spend two years integrating. As companies switch on more autonomous software, the question of who, or what, is allowed to act inside your systems becomes a real problem fast. Okta has decided it would rather own that answer than build it slowly from scratch. There is a clean lesson here for anyone thinking about acquisitions of their own. The strongest deals are often the narrow ones. You identify the specific gap in your business, and you buy the specific thing that fills it. The messy deals tend to be the ones justified by a vague adjacency, a market you do not really understand yet but hope to grow into. Precision beats ambition when you are spending real money on someone else's company. When you look at buying rather than building, do you know the exact gap you are filling? #ExitMode #MergersAndAcquisitions #BusinessStrategy #Leadership #AI
This week's Growth Mindset is out: The Growth Hidden Inside Your Business Inside this week's issue: – The next AI advantage may be operational – Print earns attention by refusing to disappear – Buyers need to diligence the founder-shaped gaps – AI adoption is spreading beyond engineering – A brand inflection point demands sharper choices The full issue is below.
