  • Being good at what you do is not enough if the right people cannot find you. And being active on LinkedIn is not the same as being visible. Today, someone might discover you through a LinkedIn post. Tomorrow, they might Google your name, find a YouTube video, read a Reddit discussion, come across an article, or ask ChatGPT who they should work with. The way we discover people, companies and expertise is changing. Which means the way we think about visibility needs to change too. I have spent 16 years helping companies build digital presences and strengthen their brands, with the past 3 years focusing on LinkedIn. But LinkedIn is only one part of a much bigger visibility ecosystem. On October 28th, at 4PM Lisbon, join me for a 90-minute LinkedIn Live. We’ll look at how to build a digital presence that makes it easier for the right people to find you, understand what you do, trust your expertise and remember you when an opportunity appears. I’ll introduce the visibility framework I use to build around four different types of channels. And I will present a new offer on Digital Visibility, that has been tested with some of my clients in the past 6 months. By the end of the session, you should have a much clearer idea of: - where your current visibility gaps are - which channels deserve more of your attention - which channels you probably don't need - how search, social, community and owned channels work together - how to think about visibility in the age of AI - what you can start building next I will be also responding to your questions live, as well to those left under this post. See you on the 28th of October! 🍓

  • Is LinkedIn playing tricks with engagement numbers? 107 likes vs. 1 like. Same LinkedIn post. Last week, Maria Pruna sent me two screenshots that made me look twice. On her LinkedIn feed, my post appeared to have 107 likes, along with comments and other engagement, once she liked it. It has only been published 1 minute ago. Then she visited my profile. There, the exact same post showed something very different: Her like was like number 1. So naturally, I have questions. Was this simply a LinkedIn glitch? Was it an experiment with how engagement numbers are displayed? Or could inflated social proof be used to encourage people to engage with content they might otherwise scroll past? I don’t have the answer and I don’t want to jump to conclusions based on one case. But it does raise an interesting ethical question. Social proof influences our behaviour. When we see that 100+ people have already engaged with something, are we more likely to stop, read and engage ourselves? Platforms naturally want our attention and engagement. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. But I believe the mechanisms used to achieve it should remain transparent and ethical. So I’m curious: Have you noticed anything similar on your LinkedIn feed, where the engagement numbers shown in the feed were very different from those on the actual post? I want to understand whether this was an isolated bug… or something worth looking into. 🍓

  • You can be brilliant at what you do. You can have years of experience. You can know exactly what you're talking about. But if you rarely talk about it, how are people supposed to know? 🍓
