About Àmárá Ṅṅáji

Volunteer roles for PMI Global

For over 20 years, I’ve worked across banking, telecom, FMCG & consulting with skillsets spanning (international trade, contracts, regulatory risksNcompliance, programs management, coaching, ghostwriting, community development and women’s economic empowerment. As a PMP-certified professional, I help organisations design cross-border strategies and deliver projects that strengthen communities and expand opportunity. Yet my professional journey has always been shaped by real life. I became a single parent along the line; a 24/7 job that demands resilience through responsibility, discipline, and the quiet courage required to build a life while building and switching careers. But that, is only half the story. In recent years, life handed me a different kind of curriculum: I plodded through cancer survival, and consequently battles of the mind, faith and fitness recovery — experiences which unmasked my vulnerabilities, attacked my identities, deepened my humanity, enriched my leadership, sharpened my empathy, and expanded my voice. Today, I also work as a resilience storyteller. My content blends: Single parenting & leadership under pressure Cancer recovery & health resilience Faith and spiritual grounding Mental health advocacy & emotional grit Fitness as recovery, discipline & clarity Cross-cultural history & legacies I believe resilience is not a buzzword but a lived practice. And I bring that practice into both my professional leadership and my storytelling. If you’re interested in cross-border strategy, women’s empowerment, community-focused projects, or collaborations that merge professional impact with human depth, I’d love to connect.

  • THE WAVES LOOK MANAGEABLE YET THE DEPTHS DECIDES YOUR FATE *A foreign market entry post* It was that blue hour of dawn. A time while sane men still slept. Neither the sun nor the birds had woken up either But it was that sweet period of the dawn when you can commune with nature & reset your head with minimal human interruptions So I stepped out for a prayer-walk, along the harbour but my feet lured me into the ocean bed - the tides were out anyway €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€ At dawn, the ocean looked harmless. Small waves rippled across the surface — nothing dramatic or threatening. I grinned as I saw a lone human steering a boat towards me - "What is that person doing on the water at such an hour?" I peered outwards "Another wacko like you" my head replied as my shoes slipped deeper into the mud & clay And with a grin, I stood there reflecting. Basking in the fact that I am inside the mighty ocean. But with a heightened sense that it could all go wrong at once Then it came to me how like entering a foreign market, this scenario was $¢$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ As I watched the canoe gently steer away, I realised something: the waves weren’t the danger. The danger was the swampy pull beneath my feet — the under‑current that could drag me down even when the surface looked calm. Or that could hinder my flight to safety when the tides surged unexpectedly ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ That’s the part investors often miss when entering foreign markets. Most due‑diligence focuses on the 'waves' — the visible signals: market demand consumer appetite competitive landscape growth projections But the real risk, the one that determines whether your investment stands or sinks — sits below the surface: a. multi‑agency regulation that doesn’t move in sync b. licensing requirements that determine whether you can operate at all c. import controls that can freeze production overnight d. compliance gaps that quietly become commercial losses £££££££££££££££££££££££££££ The canoe rider I watched wasn’t reacting to the waves. He was reading the under‑current — the invisible force that decides whether you glide forward or get pulled under That’s the mindset investors need: Don’t analyse the waves. Analyse the depth. Because markets, like oceans, hide their real risks below the surface. Both myself and that canoe rider, understood the forces we were up against, despite the calm exterior. But do you? #tradecompliance #exports #globaltrade #riskmanagement

  • THIS CAUSES CANCER SO STOP IT!! Fellow Nigerians I will not demean you with that intrusive and impolite greeting of 'how was your night? ' But let me tell you a story about Sarah. I met Sarah - a fellow Nigerian married to a Brit - in a women's community group here in England. We are both Easterners. So we bonded She has lived here for decades. Is a sanguine and consequently, loves parties, shopping and dressing up. And she likes having the last word. Sarah invited me to a Nigerian picnic a fortnight back. I went for the vibes and food. She later 'dragged' me to her friend's house. "Today that you came out, kúkú milk the opportunity. Wetin you wan go do for house? come and meet my friend - She is Hausa like you and both of you will connect" "You have a Hausa friend in Portsmouth?". I puzzled. "She is Igbo but her Igbó is not strong. She grew up in Hausaland and......." Intrigued, I followed her. We got there. Introductions over and Sarah remarked to Chide: "Oya Chidi, I brought your Hausa sister - two of you can speak Hausa now" "Who be Hausa? I no sabi speak Hausa oo". Chide protested But you grow for North and you dey speak Hausa na" Sarah cackled, looked at me and back to her "I grow for North but wetin I dey speak na Ìgalà. No bi Hausa" "No bi the same Hausa?" Sarah blustered while I smiled in comprehension "Agba oo" I saluted her in Igala "Nago" She responded with a surprised smile. "You speak Ìgalà too?" "Inaa? I just have friends from aniÌgalà and I have been there too" Then I asked a revealing question.......so are you Chidi or Chide? turns out her name is Ojochide. The shortened form Chide has somehow turned into Chidi here in England and who get power to dey argue name? Now, why am I telling you about Sarah? Because that smart-aleck attitude is what I see some Nigerians exhibiting all over LinkedIn So many armchair-experts with no lived experiences who think they suddenly know what causes #cancer you spread panic and fear about foods we should abstain from so we don't 'catch' cancer which has become malaria Are you aware that you trigger #cancersurvivors by pushing such insensitive contents? Do you know that cancer is to the UK what malaria is to Nigeria? so rampant and the leading cause of death yet we do not 'drink satchet water nor eat from roadside bukas' here oh, and you actually eat more organic foods than us here Yet the medical experts still maintain that it's a game of probabilities. Stop pushing contents for clout' sake. imagine if I was not equipped with my lived experiences about the North and Middle Belt? Sarah would have still remained the expert on an issue she knew nothing about. Unfortunately for us all, among her White circles and the uninitiated, whatever knowledge she shares about Nigeria will be seen as an expert speaking. Just stop. Keep quiet. You have no idea what causes cancer. Except you want to tell us what caused yours. #LinkedInLearning

  • WHAT THIS DOG TAUGHT ME ABOUT DNAs My friend, Cathy drove for hours yesterday morning to come check up on me from Somerset. With her Jack Russell - Mabel It was a prearranged visit. The plan was for us to take a walk since I am terrified of dogs and wouldn't allow it in my house But the rain had other plans. She walked the dog without me. They both got wet. So I shoved my fear out the door for them to come inside. - my first tectonic mental shift While we caught up, I pelted her with curious questions Ah, did I mention I stroked the dog? 2nd tectonic mental shift And her answers about the dog surprised me. A Jack Russell hails from a lineage of hunters. It is in their nature to burrow through holes, ferret out, chase, hunt, kill, eat But Mabel came to them as a 6-week old puppy. I recall seeing her then as she sat in the car with Cathy's husband during an earlier visit Despite being adopted at that tender age and being domesticated, Mabel still behaves like her ancestors, any chance she gets. She runs into the woods, chasing the pheasants and anything else she can harass until her owners rein her in. Pause here. A puppy that was adopted into a home & given a new orientation. Raised away from her kind still has the tendencies of her breed! And as opportunity permits, she exhibits those traits! Do you recall that scene in the lion king? How Simba ditched Timon and Pumba after he met Nala? Think of it, that dejected & rejected cub with no sense of identity, whom Pumba and Timon found and raised into manhood...... yet his first instincts when he saw one of his kind, was to manifest his real self You remember Mowgli of Baloo, Bagheera and Shere Khan (The jungle book)? That man-cub was the only 'animal' not afraid to stare man in the eyes and not afraid of fire. Despite not knowing yet that he was human Cath and I chatted about how much our #DNA can sabotage us. Until we become intentional. You look back and vow to be different from 'them' all, but along the line, before you actually realise it, your strings are being pulled by the idols of your father's house You vow to do better, know better and be better. Yet, you remain a pawn who goes running when your ancestors call. After they left, I sat down and ruminated over how much of a puppet man is to his nature. What makes 2 siblings raised in the same home turn out differently from their parent? one picks the vices while the other does a volte face? Determination? A tectonic mental shift? Like a dog on a leash, you would keep coming back to base when pulled. Except a stronger force intervenes to cut you loose. That is regeneration. Except a man be born again of a new nature in Christ, he remains a pawn to the dictates of his basal nature. You cannot fight your old nature with willpower and intent alone. You need to be cut loose via redemption. #sundayschool #mindsetshifts #neuralpathways #neuroscience
