About Andrea Petrone

The CEO Whisperer | Author, Reinvention at The Top (Wiley, 22 Oct 2026) | Helping CEOs Lead Under Pressure | Founder, WCL21 | Podcast Host

CEOs don’t look for help when things are easy. They look for it when the pressure is highest: - when the role starts to change them, - when the team stops performing, - when the answers aren’t obvious anymore. That’s where I work. I’m known as The CEO Whisperer, the person CEOs turn to in those moments. Over 20+ years across seven countries, I’ve worked with 250+ CEOs and C-suite leaders at companies like Shell, Unilever, Goldman Sachs, Takeda, and EssilorLuxottica — often at the moments that defined their tenure. My work is simple in principle, difficult in practice: Help CEOs think clearly, act decisively, and lead in a way people follow especially under pressure. I work with CEOs of $20M–$500M companies at inflection points: - stepping into the role - facing board pressure - navigating transformation - dealing with stalled growth - rebuilding leadership teams Not as a “another coach”, but as a trusted advisor and thinking partner. I’m also a keynote speaker, working with leadership teams and global organisations on what it really takes to lead when the stakes are high. My first book, Reinvention at the Top (Wiley, 2026), is built on a simple idea: The most critical transition in business is personal. The CEOs who last are the ones who reinvent how they lead. I host The World Class Leaders Show (top 5% globally), where I’ve had conversations with leaders like Amy Edmondson, Gary Hamel, Lynda Gratton, Adam Bryant and global CEOs shaping today’s companies. I also founded WCL21, a private room for CEOs of $20M–$500M companies to think, challenge, and grow together. Open for founding members until July 2026.

  • Your future isn’t a mystery. It’s already visible in your daily habits. If you want to know who you’ll be in 5 years, don’t look at your goals. Look at this: 1. The books you read ↳ Choose books that really stretch you ↳ Highlight ruthlessly and turn ideas into action ↳ A great book changes behaviours 2. The foods you eat ↳ Your brain runs on what’s on your plate ↳ Eat 2–3 default “high-energy” meals per week ↳ Comfort food is just anxiety with better branding 3. The habits you build ↳ Tiny habits beat giant plans, you never start ↳ Attach new habits to old ones ↳ What you repeat in private = what you become in public 4. The friends you meet ↳ Your standards = the people you spend time with ↳ Ditch people who love gossip ↳ Spend time with people who talk about ideas 5. The workouts you do ↳ Training is for the 60-year-old you ↳ Treat workouts as investor meetings ↳ Strong body → calmer mind → better decisions 6. The money you invest ↳ Pay yourself first, then live on what’s left ↳ Buy assets & skills, not things to impress strangers ↳ Every $1 you invest buys you future freedom or regret 7. The sacrifices you make ↳ Saying “yes” to everything is the path to disaster ↳ Trade one hour of scrolling for one hour of building ↳ Short-term comfort is just an expensive addiction Your future self is watching how you live this week. Which one of these will you change today? ♻️ Repost it to inspire other leaders And follow Andrea Petrone for more (picture found on Pinterest)

  • MIT Sloan studied 34 million employee profiles. The #1 predictor of people quitting? Toxic culture. 10.4x more powerful than compensation. Pay ranked sixteenth. Five things that build it. Without anyone naming them: 1. Reacting badly to bad news They'll tell you once. After that, silence. And the real problems go underground. 2. Saying "my door is open" but proving otherwise One bad reaction kills a year of trust. People remember tone longer than words. 3. Letting top performers skip accountability Rules that bend for some break it for all. The team sees it. And stops believing. 4. Treating boundaries as lack of commitment Your hardest workers burn out first. Loyalty without limits becomes resentment. 5. Filling every silence with your own answer The room goes quiet. Then stops trying. Innovation dies where obedience is rewarded. The $1 trillion question every leader should ask: What did someone decide not to tell you today?

  • The best person on his leadership team resigned last month. She told him: "I've stopped growing here and I can't wait any longer." He was stunned. She was the one he never had to worry about. Always delivered, never asked for much. He'd assumed she was fine because she was performing. That assumption is the most expensive mistake I see in the companies I work with. When someone is reliable, they become invisible. Their consistency makes them easy to overlook. Nobody asks how they're doing because they never cause problems. Nobody pushes their thinking because they always deliver. And slowly, quietly, they stop growing. She'd known for months. She was solving the same problems and running the same playbook she'd been running a year ago. Every week she waited for someone to ask what kind of leader she was becoming. Nobody did. So she found somewhere that would. In 300+ leaders I've coached, the ones companies lose are always the ones who stopped asking for anything a long time ago. By the time a CEO notices, the resignation letter is already written. I call this the reliability trap. The better you perform, the less attention you get. And the less attention you get, the faster you plateau. That's why I built the CEO Mindset Accelerator. It does what her company didn't. Every day it challenges your thinking, pushes you past the playbook you're running on repeat, and gives you direct coaching feedback on what you're not seeing. One leader told me: "I had a sense I was doing these things. But having it directly pointed out so I have to truly internalize it, that's a tremendous help. I needed this app 2 years ago." She waited for someone to invest in her growth. You don't have to. Get the CEO Mindset Accelerator: https://lnkd.in/eAB8J59J 20% off September 1-13.
