Jev founder just dropped a 12 page pdf on building smarter coding agents that spend 10x fewer tokens It starts from one question. How would you design a coding agent if LLMs had no KV cache? What it exposes: → Reading and searching eat two thirds of your agent's tokens. Writing code is under a tenth. → Routing easy work to a cheaper model costs 50% more, not less. The math is on page 4. → Compaction throws away the wrong things because it compresses before knowing the question. → Hundreds of tool schemas in the system prompt make tool selection worse, not better. The fix is one idea. Stop letting context accumulate. Assemble it on purpose, per query. Link to the PDF: https://lnkd.in/e3ZAPY-E Drop it into Claude Code or Codex and ask it to audit your agent against the six symptoms. Full breakdown with code lands in the newsletter this week: https://lnkd.in/ennwBeGW
The question isn't whether AI can do your job. It's whether you still can without it. I see two types of professionals using AI right now. The first type uses it like a copilot. They think first. They prompt second. They push back when the output feels off. The second type uses it like autopilot. They prompt first. They accept what comes back. They slowly stop forming opinions. On paper, both look productive. Both ship fast. Both sound smart. The difference shows up under pressure. When a client challenges the plan. When the data doesn't match reality. When the room needs a decision, not a draft. Type one steps up. Type two opens a new chat. AI is a multiplier. It multiplies expertise. It also multiplies the lack of it. The tools will keep getting better. That's not the variable. You are. Which type are you becoming?
This might be one of the most legendary GitHub issues ever written 😂 Imagine downloading VS Code, casually experimenting with source control, clicking “discard changes”… and then realizing you may have just deleted three months of work and thousands of files. The progression from confusion → panic → pure, unfiltered rage is what makes this screenshot unforgettable. And also a timeless developer reminder: Git is incredibly useful… once you understand what the buttons actually do.
