I’m a founder, creative director and content producer building a creator-led production studio, BRK CREATIVE. We help brands turn ideas into stories people actually want to watch, from strategy and concept development through to production, storytelling and distribution. Before this, Francis and I built and sold our first company, BRKAWAY, which taught me a lot about what it actually takes to turn an idea into something people care about. These days, I’m taking everything I learned about building a business and applying it to a different kind of company: one built around creativity, storytelling and the power of creators. A lot of my work happens through cycling and PACE PARTNERS COLLECTIVE. It’s the creative lens we’ve built our audience around, and it’s taken us from local rides to international campaigns with tourism boards, cycling brands and global companies. But the work itself goes beyond cycling. I’m interested in the intersection of storytelling and strategy, creator-led marketing, building brands people actually want to follow, the business of creativity, and what it looks like to build something from scratch. I also share what I’m learning along the way: the creative decisions, business lessons, experiments and occasional mistakes that come with building a company. If you’re a founder, brand or marketing team thinking about how to tell a better story, I’d love to connect.

For the first time in a while, I’m building something from scratch again 👀 A few years ago, I co-founded a startup, grew it from the ground up, and eventually sold the business in January. After that chapter came to an end, I took some time to step back and think about what I actually wanted to build next. The answer kept bringing me back to the things I’ve always loved… creating, telling stories, travelling and cycling. So rather than treating those things as separate parts of my life, I decided to build something around all three. I’m excited to officially share Pace Partners Collective, a cycling media platform I’m building with my partner and co-creator Francis. We wanted to create a place where people could find great cycling routes, discover new destinations and get the information they actually need to plan their own rides. But honestly, we’re just getting started. The more we’ve immersed ourselves in the cycling space, the more gaps and opportunities we’ve started to notice, and the more ideas we’ve had for what Pace Partners could become. We’re still very much in the early stages but I’m excited to explore those ideas and see where they could lead. At the same time, over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to work with tourism organizations and cycling brands, creating campaigns around destinations and products that genuinely fit into the way we ride. If you’re working in cycling, travel, tourism or content, I’d love to connect. And if you’re looking for your next cycling adventure, I hope you’ll find something worth riding ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gYmmG5sN
Building again, but differently 🛠️ After selling my first startup earlier this year, I wasn’t sure when I’d want to build another company. A few months later, here we are! The entrepreneur in me couldn’t resist 💁🏼♀️ The biggest difference this time is that instead of trying to map out exactly where this goes, I’m trying to enjoy the process of building it, wherever it takes us. When I built my first startup, we built the community first. That’s something I really want to do again. This time, with a much better understanding of what I want the journey to look like. Pace Partners Collective is officially underway. Follow along to see where we take it! And our bikes 🙌🏻
I knew creating content mattered for our startup. As a founder building in public, I genuinely enjoyed documenting what we were building and bringing people along for the journey. But behind the scenes, I had no process. I had thousands of clips sitting in my camera roll, no organization system, and spent hours trying to find the footage I needed when I was halfway through an edit. Eventually, creating content started to feel like another thing on my never-ending to-do list, despite the fact that I loved doing it. Looking back, my mistake was assuming that because I cared about content and enjoyed creating it, I'd somehow always find the time and energy for it. I think a lot of startup founders do this. We build systems for the things we don't enjoy (for me that was finance, operations, and admin) but we assume the things we're excited about will just happen naturally. They don't. The things that are most important to your business are often the things that need the best systems. If building in public matters to you, build a system around it. If growing your personal brand matters, make time for it. If talking to customers matters, create a process that makes it easy. If creating content is part of your growth strategy, don't leave it up to motivation. One of the biggest advantages of being a founder today is that we have access to incredible tools that can help us work smarter. The founders who learn how to build systems around the things that matter will move faster, stay more consistent, and burn out less. If something matters to your startup, don't just prioritize it. Build a system that makes it almost impossible not to do consistently.
