  • How to plan a content calendar for the month (that ACTUALLY makes things easier): Because in this corner of the internet, we don’t wing it baby! (Or at least we try not to where we can 😅) Remember, not having a plan = → inconsistent messaging → rushed captions and content that doesn’t connect. Instead of that, Here’s the system I use to plan monthly content (for myself + clients): ✨ Step 1: Lock in your goals What are actually you trying to drive this month? → Launching something new? → Building a community? → Increasing brand awareness? → Building trust? Your content should be aligned with that goal, or it’s just noise. ✨ Step 2: Remember your content backbones This gives your content structure without boxing you in. Examples: → Education (tips, how-tos, industry insights) → Personal (your story, beliefs, behind the scenes) → Social proof (testimonials, results, client wins) → Engagement (questions, your unique opinions, conversation starters,) You’ll rotate these throughout the month so there’s no more guessing what to post. ✨ Step 3: Decide how often you’ll post Be realistic. You don’t need to post every day. 3x a week with intention will get you further than 7 half-hearted posts. Plot this on a calendar with placeholders. (I use Notion & Later for this) For example: → Monday = advice → Wednesday = personal story → Friday = client win You’ve got a framework now. ✨ Step 4: Batch your ideas Sit down and brain dump content ideas under each pillar. Here’s how to get inspired fast: → Check your DMs for questions you’re always asked → Look at past posts that performed well and repurpose → Check your screenshot folder (if you’re anything like me you’ve saved a hella lot of inspo in there 😂) → Ask: what do I wish more people understood about my work? Pull 12–15 solid ideas to work with. ✨ Step 5: Create (with flexibility) Batch when you can. Pre write captions & posts (even loosely.) Design any graphics you need, take photos or film 2–3 videos at a time. And always leave space to share in the moment stories or reactive content too. ✨ You don’t want to feel too rigid but I promise having this framework in place will help ALOT. You’ll find you’re even more creative when you’ve got a rough plan in place, it takes the pressure off a little and it lets your brain breathe more easily! I promise, content planning doesn’t need to be complicated. You just need a solid system that brings you structure AND flexibility. That’s when your content starts to click for you and your audience. 👌🏼 And if you need help building a content system that actually works for your brand then that’s exactly what I help clients with, drop me a message if you’d like to chat. ✨ Hey, I’m Jess 👋🏼 I share tips and advice on how to build your best social content and strategies! • Things that made the BIGGEST difference to growing my LinkedIn audience. And it’s probably not what you’d expect. I don’t have a ‘commenting strategy.’ I don’t post 7 days a week. And I’m not in any engagement pods. But there a few things that I believe made a MASSIVE difference… So here’s what actually got the ball rolling: 1. I stopped sounding professional For ages I was writing like I was submitting a cover letter. It was waaay too stiff and boring AF. The moment I started writing like I actually talk, As if I was sending a voice note to a friend, everything changed. 2. I posted even when I had nothing "big" to say We all gotta stop waiting for some huge announcement, or some piece of monumental knowledge to feel its ’post worthy’ Some of my best performing posts have been the ones where I shared something small and personal. You don't need a groundbreaking take every time. You just need to show up and be honest. 3. I replied to as many comments as I could (& in turn commented on their posts whenever I could too) To be so real, I’ve still gotta work on this more! Community really is EVERYTHING on here. Build it with every spare minute you can. I never get around to replying to every single comment or commenting on every post I want to. I say I will. And then the day gets ahead of me. But when I do comment, it’s always me being genuine and having a chat! 🫶🏼 4. I just kept going There were posts that couldn’t climb to 10 likes. Posts I was embarrassed about. Weeks where I thought "is anyone even reading this?" But I kept showing up. And over time, the consistency compounded and it all finally started to pay off! Genuinely, one of the biggest hacks for growing on LinkedIn, is just being HUMAN, being HELPFUL, and being HERE. 🫶🏼 Share your stories, find your people & be consistent! That’s what it takes ✨ Hey, I'm Jess 👋🏼 I share tips and advice on how to build your best social content and strategies! Hit 'follow' to keep up to date! ♻️ Found this post helpful? • Here’s how to actually know what kind of content performs best in your industry... Here’s what most people do when they have no idea what type of content they should post: → Post a company update → Look at a few competitors → Copy what’s working → Blend in with everyone else But here’s the kicker with doing that… None of those things sound like YOUR BRAND. Here’s what to do instead, This is how you create content that performs AND helps you stands out 👌🏼 ✨ 1. Zoom out before you zoom in Look at brands OUTSIDE of your industry. Ask: What are they doing with content that my industry isn’t? → This is how you break the mould → This is how you stop sounding like everyone else ✨ 2. Turn comments into research sessions Your best content ideas are already sitting under top performing posts. → What are people asking about? → What’s missing? → What did they love? Mine the comments. They’re full of gold. ✨ 3. Use tools like TikTok’s Creator Search & ‘Answer The Public’ to spot content gaps. → Find a gap that’s relevant for you to fill Turn those questions into: → Educational carousels → Talking head videos → Eye catching images with sharp text in the caption. → Downloadable lead magnets Position yourself as the expert by answering what they’re already searching for. ✨ 4. Study format trends, not just content trends Most people focus only on what their competitors post. But it’s a good trick to look at how it's delivered too: → Are they mostly posting carousels or talking to camera videos? → Are the videos short form or long? → How’s the tone? → Which is performing better for them? → What hooks are they using? Check what’s working STRUCTURALLY, then make it your own. ✨ 5. Prioritise saves & shares, not likes → Shares = “this was valuable” → Saves = “I want to refer back to this” That’s how you know it’s sticky content. ✨ 6. Create content around your unfair advantage → What do you know that others don’t? → What feels obvious to you, but is a breakthrough to your audience? Start there. Build consistency around it. Own your space. And remember, Posting for the sake of it isn’t the goal. Connection, trust, visibility, and authority is. → Map your content pillars to the problems you solve → Know what you want each post to lead toward → Stay intentional Bottom line? Don’t copy…understand. Don’t blend in…build a brand that thinks ahead. Don’t just post…position yourself. 🙌🏼 Hey, I’m Jess 👋🏼 I share tips and advice on how to build your best social content and strategies! Hit ‘follow’ to keep up to date! ♻️ Found this post helpful?
