I run HR technology inside PE-backed companies I’ve led HRIS transformations, including complex M&A, inside Canada’s second-largest bank, a $3B+ parent company behind some of America’s largest ammunition brands, a $1B+ national healthcare company, and multiple TPG-backed businesses spanning cybersecurity, a 30,000+ employee premier fitness brand, and new hospitality technology company. With 8 Workday Pro certifications, my work spans $20M transformations with 20+ person delivery teams, global Workday deployments across 20+ countries, and building HRIS functions from the ground up, coming in as the sole HRIS leader, securing $1M+ budgets, negotiating major contracts, standing up managed services, and scaling teams to 5 full-time employees. My favorite part? Building HRIS operating models, leading global implementations (4 in one year!), and creating something bigger than myself.

"what do I need to look out for on workday implementations?" --so glad you asked gang 🫶 here are some nuggets of info before you're in too deeeeep: UAT testing: remember UAT = U Are Testing. just bc your implementation partner implements workday, doesn't mean you're off the hook. you'll also have payroll parallel testing. I've seen 500+ test cases dropped on a team once and they had no idea they had to do it 🙄 change orders: I’ve never seen an implementation without one. I’ve also seen change orders add 50%+ to the original implementation cost. if you budget exactly what the SOW says, bless ur heart knowledge transfers: send your hris/HR team to workday training as soon as that contract has dry ink. waiting until go-live for KT and expecting everyone to magically become admins is adorable. everyone is already fried by then. oh and don't wait until you're live to realize you never purchased WD learn on-demand videos but actually need them 🫠 hypercare: typically you get around 30 days of support for what was implemented. keyword: IMPLEMENTED. this is not free system administration and they do not suddenly become your in-house workday team 🤦♀️ (unless you've got staff aug) catch-up transactions: going live 1/1? your data was probably pulled a month before. every hire, term, promotion, transfer, comp change etc. after that still has to make it into workday. oh surprise!!! that catch-up is usually yours, including annual promos/merit hitting 1/1 lol. oh and don’t even get me started on all those annual position uploads companies love to do at the beginning of the year 😭 remember when I said make sure you're trained? that comes in handy right here anywho happy national double cheese burger day hris gang 🍔
