About Dilem Kaya

Shaping Responsible AI Adoption | Future of Health & Regulated Industries | Builder, Speaker & Moderator

I don't believe technology creates impact simply because it works. It creates impact when it solves a real problem, reaches the right people, and improves how people work or decide. That is the space I work in. I have moved deliberately between politics, industry, research, and startups, because meaningful AI adoption needs more than one perspective. I served as Personal Assistant to a Federal Minister, worked with SAP's AI Core team, and am in international research. My Master's thesis at the Hasso Plattner Institute examines the health-economic value of AI-based early-warning systems in cardiology. Today, I build AI products and advise organizations on where AI creates real value and how to put it into practice. I speak and moderate internationally on AI, digital health, leadership, and technological change. This year, I co-organized and moderated three international conferences on the future of technology and health. 3 days: Future of Health Seminar: First Joint Seminar of Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and SBB 3 days: Managing the AI transition: Alumni of Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes Why all of this? It's always a team effort. I spent ten years as captain of ALBA Berlin's women's basketball team and won the Northern German Championship. As the smallest player on the court, I learned that leadership isn't about dominating the game. It's about seeing the whole court, and helping everyone around you play better. I also co-lead the Berlin chapter of 2hearts, supporting people with migration backgrounds in tech careers. If you're working on technology that should matter and create real value, let's talk. dilemkaya.com

  • Five AI events I recommend attending in person in Berlin (and a PLUS-1 ticket giveaway) 👇 After joining the Big Bang KI Festival through my scholarship, my next AI conferences are already approaching. At two of them, I will also be speaking. 📍 22–23 September: AIDAQ, AI, Data & Quantum Summit One of Europe’s major events for AI, data and quantum computing, bringing together more than 2,500 participants and 200 speakers from business, research and politics. 📍 29 September: German Indian Innovation Summit I am looking forward to joining the event as a speaker and discussing innovation between Germany and India. The team is also looking for volunteers who will receive access to the summit in return. 📍 1–2 October: Leopoldina Symposium 2026, Trust-Centered Medicine at Charité A unique symposium exploring trust in modern medicine from clinical, ethical, technological and societal perspectives with expert discussions, research contributions and poster sessions. Here I make sure that science & research receive the attention they deserve. Stay tuned. More soon. 🧠 📍 20–21 October: Frontiers Health 2026 A global digital health conference in Berlin, bringing together health leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and innovators. Volunteers can get free access. 📍 2–3 December: AI@HPI Conference in Potsdam I will also join this conference as a speaker. Looking forward to seeing first-class international research and industry as well as politics discussing on Europe’s competitiveness. Why attending conferences in person? Attending events has supported my career in many ways. I have received invitations for paid speaking engagements, formed new partnerships, expanded my network and strengthened my personal brand - most importantly I saw familiar faces in person, by drinking coffee and encouraging each other. Which event would you like to attend? I also have one plus-one ticket for AIDAQ by Bitkom. If you would like to join me, comment below and tell me why you want to attend. See you soon!

  • A patient signs a form they don't fully read. A doctor might trust results they didn't personally verify. A hospital board might approve an AI tool nobody in the room can fully explain. What do all of them have in common? TRUST & Future of Health. There is no better place to sit & learn about our future of health than the Leopoldina Symposium 2026 – Trust-Centered Medicine, jointly organized by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Experts from medicine, ethics, technology, and behavioral science come together to ask what actually makes medicine worthy of trust, and how we measure, strengthen, and sustain it. In about ten days, it takes place in Berlin, and I will be there behind the scenes and behind the camera, making sure this conversation about science and research gets the attention it deserves. Medicine is not about illness. It is about all of us, and about building the kind of trust that makes prevention possible before treatment is ever needed. A sneak-peak into the program with international, esteemed guests: -Trust-Centered Medicine (Dr. Johannes Wimmer) -Science in Mass Media: Ethical Considerations (Professor Alena Buyx) -Telemedicine (Prof. Dr. med. Nicolas Paul) -Personalized Therapies (Dr. Marion Hitchcock) -Medicine and Aviation – A Comparison of Trust (Prof. B. O´Brien) And..a Poster Session Ceremony and live orchestra music in between. Who else should be in that room? Tag them, or share it in your network, because trust in medicine needs every stakeholder at the table. Thank you for everyone involved working behind the scenes to make this unique symposium happen. A special thank you to Prof. Dr. med. Claudia Spies, ML, Director, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Charité. Hope to see many of you there!

  • I decided to practice tennis every day during my vacation, becoming a beginner again. Why? I wanted to train one skill #successful professionals share: Doing hard things consistently, even before you feel ready. For me, this meant getting up at 6:30 a.m. and practicing on a basketball court by the beach while everyone else slept. With 10 years of competitive basketball behind me, including leading my team as captain and winning the regional championship, my brain expected perfect competence. The opposite happened: I missed balls. I showed others I was not an expert in this sport yet. I returned the next morning anyway. These three principles help me: 1️⃣ I trap myself. I shared my challenge publicly, paid for equipment and some lessons, and removed distractions during practice. Make quitting more difficult than continuing. 2️⃣ I use if-then rules. If it is 6:30 a.m., I am on the beach. Decide in advance, so your tired brain has nothing to negotiate. 3️⃣ I become the system. According to a Harvard study, motivation does not drive repetition. Repetition drives motivation. This is exactly why some professionals stay ahead, adapt amidst technological transformation. They train their brains, something no organization, company or person is able to buy. I am sharing a short video with some of the hacks I use. Save this post for your next challenge and follow me for practical (tech) systems, AI transformation and the human skills we need to lead it.
