Builder & amplifier of people and ideas that matter | Co-Founder @CoachAmp | Investor | Mentor | Angel
I’m a computer scientist turned entrepreneur - a nerd with a huge heart for people and a passion for building things that last. Since 1999, I’ve been scaling companies, leading teams, and creating communities. I started my career developing embedded systems (haven’t touched a soldering iron in years!) - and that technical curiosity still fuels me. I’m just as comfortable diving deep into architecture as I am presenting to executives or mentoring first-time founders. I believe knowledge only grows when it’s shared. I regularly speak at conferences and industry events on cloud, leadership, and the future of tech - and I co-host a podcast exploring digital participation and the human side of technology. Whether I’m leading a team, teaching a workshop, or advising startups and scale-ups, I find joy in translating complexity into clarity. My energy comes from enabling others to succeed - and I bring that mindset to everything I do. After a few startups and exits, I co-founded kreuzwerker and bootstrapped it into an AWS Premier and Atlassian Platinum Partner with 150 people and a strong culture of excellence. Today, I lead the AWS business at Public Cloud Group, focusing on strategic growth, partner ecosystems, and operational excellence — with deep experience in cloud, compliance, and go-to-market. Still building. Still learning. Always sharing.

Stay in Germany or move to SF? Many young founders I talk to are asking me this question. It's been bothering me for a while. The default take is that nothing works here. Too much bureaucracy, too little ambition, and anyone serious should leave for the Valley, because that's where the money is. So I started building something against that. It's called builder-stack.de, and I'm still not done with it. It's meant to be a landing page for founding in Germany, answering the things everyone needs at the start: - Which legal form fits right now, UG or GmbH, and what does each one signal? - Where's the money before you ever raise a round? (EXIST, INVEST, KfW, the non-dilutive stuff most people never hear about) - Which deadlines start ticking the day you incorporate? (Accident insurance within a week, the ownership register within a month, and a few more that surprise everyone...) - Who's worth knowing, and where's worth working, before you need either? I want to create a map with carefully curated resources to help you find your way around as a founder in German. As an entrepreneur, this is the knowledge you "forget" the moment you have it. You stop remembering what it cost you to learn. But for someone just starting out, that obvious-seeming stuff is the most valuable thing there is. Here, negativity passes for caution, and caution passes for virtue. Sounding skeptical sounds competent. Nobody ever built anything that way. Optimism isn't naivety. It's a decision, and the more productive one! And it isn't something you have once and then keep. You pass it on. Regularly, and above all to the people who are just getting started. The scene here is a lot better than the way it talks about itself. Know someone who's a genuine pleasure to work with while building in Germany? Tag them below, I'd like to add the good ones. ;-)
