Quiet, steady owners aren’t hunters. I teach them to reverse‑engineer networking so strategic relationships, not cold chasing, consistently turn into mid‑market revenue.
You're good at what you do. But you still don't know where your next client is coming from. That's not a skills problem. That's a rooms problem. And most people are solving it wrong. They're networking harder. Showing up to more rooms. Collecting more contacts. And none of it turns into revenue. Here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud: Most of the people you're networking with can't buy from you, refer you, or open a single door that matters. I learned this the hard way. I remember the exact moment I knew the business wasn't working the way I thought it was. I was doing everything right, showing up, networking, putting myself out there. And still, every Monday started with the same question: where is the next client coming from? Marine veteran. Five-time bestselling author. Award-winning speaker. And still grinding for clients like none of it mattered. It wasn't until I stopped chasing and started building strategic relationships that everything changed. Not just for me, for the hundreds of B2B service providers I've worked with since. The difference between stuck and scaling isn't hustle. It's being in the right rooms with the right people who already have access to your buyers. That's what Success Champion Networking was built to solve. SCN is a B2B referral networking organization with 30 chapters across the country, built specifically for service providers who are done with random networking and ready to build a referral pipeline that actually works. No tire kickers. No people who can't move deals. Just strategic relationships with adjacent experts already selling into your ideal clients. If you're talented, proven, and tired of not knowing where your next client is coming from, there's a chapter for you. 👇 Find your chapter at successchampionnetworking.com

It’s kind of crazy to realize that a country singer you’ve never met had such a big impact on the way you look at life. One of my all-time favorite songs is Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors.” I think I’ve always loved that song because I can relate to it so damn much. Growing up, most of my clothes were hand-me-downs, and half the time they didn’t fit. We didn’t have a lot, but the funny thing is, I didn’t know we were poor. I just thought that was how life worked. It wasn’t until much later that I looked back and realized how little we actually had. I think that’s what I’ve always loved about Dolly. She was never ashamed of where she came from. She didn’t let what she didn’t have take away from what she did have. She always seemed to look at life with a glass-half-full mentality, and she found a way to turn the hard parts into something beautiful. But the older I get, the more I realize it isn’t just her music I admire. It’s what she did with the life that music gave her. She helped people. She gave back. She used her money, her success, and her platform to make a real difference in people’s lives, and she never seemed to need the spotlight for doing it. That’s the kind of legacy I want to leave. Sure, I want to build big companies, write books, speak on stages, and change how the world networks. But more than any of that, I hope I can look back at the end of my life and know that I actually helped people. I hope I can touch even a fraction of the lives Dolly has. It’s funny that a song about a coat made from scraps has stayed with me my entire life. Maybe it’s because it reminds me that where you start doesn’t have to define where you finish. And if you make it far enough, you’d better reach back and bring some people with you.
LET’S. FVCKING. GO. Stephanie Broquist and Darren Crosby just earned their tickets to BABS! We challenged people to create a video explaining why they wanted to attend the Badass Business Summit. Stephanie said something that perfectly captured this year’s theme: “Sometimes the room that makes you a little uncomfortable is exactly the room you need to walk into.” She doesn’t need another conference. She needs to become the kind of person willing to walk into a room where she doesn’t know anyone and discover what could happen next. That is exactly what Champions Don’t Play Safe means. Stephanie and Darren raised their hands. We heard them. So we’re giving them each a ticket to the Badass Business Summit, and they each get to bring one person with them! That’s four people getting into the room because two people were willing to put themselves out there. Congratulations, Stephanie and Darren. Now choose your people, see you at the summit. Thank you ANNABEL PICKENS and Courtney Vigil for the contest idea. Should we do another contest?
Most days, building a business doesn’t feel like a keynote. It feels like keeping promises nobody claps for. I tried to write something big and inspirational this morning. Truthfully, I’m just not feeling it today. There’s no giant breakthrough to announce. Just emails to answer. Problems to solve. Decisions that can’t keep getting pushed off. People counting on me to show up. Goats that still need to be fed. And a business that doesn’t give a sh!t whether I feel motivated today. This is the part of entrepreneurship we don’t post about enough. We celebrate the launches, packed rooms, big checks, awards, and moments when everything finally comes together. But businesses aren’t built in those moments. They’re built on the ordinary days when you’re tired, distracted, uninspired, and still do what needs to be done. Maybe today won’t be the day everything changes. Maybe today is just another brick. Lay it anyway.
