B2B SaaS Content Creator & Strategist | Making video content that converts | Behind-the-scenes lessons from 40M+ views
See my work ➡️ elizabethopao.com I produce video content for AI and SaaS brands, backed by nearly a decade in B2B marketing. I have a knack of turning complicated software features into clear, engaging videos built for real product adoption and business growth, through Meta ads, YouTube tutorials, UGC content, and general video strategy. That same instinct for storytelling built my personal brand on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where I share my travels while working remotely full-time. Millions of views later, it's turned into a community of people rethinking what a career and a life on the road can look like (you can check me out on those platforms at @thelizjane). I'm always up for a conversation about content hooks, career pivots, where to find the best conveyor belt sushi in Tokyo, or why the algorithm hates all of us equally (and sometimes, when it likes us too!). errrr, I just got this rejection email today. I had a video interview this company a few weeks back and didn't hear anything, so I assumed they moved on. I cringe to think about how many people got this email. What kills me is that there was enough personalization to use my first name, but not enough care to delete what was definitely an internal title/tag for this email. And listen, I used to work in email marketing, and I know mistakes happen (I've sent out that "oops, we didn't mean to send that!" email after a flub or two). But with something as sensitive as hiring and sending out rejection emails, you'd think there'd be a smidge more care and consideration when delivering news like this. Just a real quick reminder to cast an eye on those automated emails, esp in your ATS, ESP in this economy.
Will comment sections be gated in the future? 🤔 I saw an interesting take from Coco Mocoe about how comment sections are where anyone gets to be their own content creator, beacuse most people will never publish a video or post at all, but they'll absolutely drop a comment on something they have an opinion about. She gave an example of someone who posts about history, has a Facebook group and a free Substack, but turns off all the comments. To access them, you need to be a paid Substack subscriber. That person makes $5 million a year. So the idea is creators could monetize access to that space, rather than the content itself. Comment sections are already full of "the real advice is in the comments," and a lot of people want to form an opinion about the content they just consumed only AFTER reading the comment section. It'd be up to social platforms to actually build that functionality but if they did, it could change how we think about what's actually worth paying for. It makes me think about bot comments - would they go away completely in this instance? I'm down to see how'd that shake out. #contentcreation #creatoreconomy
