Product & Engineering Leader Building AI-Native Products at the Intersection of Software Delivery, Developer Experience (DevX) and Go-to-Market (GTM)

Hello, I'm Hamza 👋 I'm a Product & Engineering Leader building AI-native products at the intersection of software delivery, developer experience, and go-to-market (GTM). Over the past 18+ years, I've progressed from software engineer to engineering leader, product executive, and founder, leading teams of up to 100 people and taking products from discovery through product-market fit, commercialisation, and scale. What makes my journey different is the experience I've gained working across engineering, product, and venture building. As a product and engineering leader, founder, and operator, I've learned that the most meaningful problems rarely belong to one function. They emerge where technology, customer needs, and commercial strategy intersect, and solving them requires connecting those worlds rather than optimising them in isolation. I've always been drawn to building, whether products, platforms, teams, or businesses. I enjoy taking ideas from ambiguity to execution, using customer discovery, rapid experimentation, and evidence-driven decision-making to reduce uncertainty and build products that customers genuinely adopt. One belief has remained constant throughout my career: the best product teams don't fall in love with the solution, they fall in love with the problem. It's a principle that shapes how I lead teams, make decisions, and build products. The best products are built by teams where people feel safe to challenge assumptions, curiosity is valued over certainty, learning is celebrated as much as success, and culture-add matters more than culture-fit. Those are the environments I strive to create. Today, I'm particularly interested in how AI is reshaping not just software, but how products are built, teams collaborate, and businesses execute. I believe we're only at the beginning of this transformation. I'm always happy to connect with people building ambitious products, exploring AI, or rethinking how software gets built.

  • “The customer asked for it” is not always evidence of a good decision. Sometimes it’s just how you end up with a chilli 🌶️ in your mouth, immediately reconsidering every decision that led you there. I asked for it. They gave me exactly what I asked for. Technically, flawless execution, but terrible outcome. Turns out, regret is quite good at exposing bad product logic. Customers are usually much better at describing what they want than predicting whether the thing they asked for will actually solve their problem. Good product judgement might simply mean asking one more question before turning confidence into a feature. 👉🏼 Sometimes the customer know exactly what they want; sometimes they think they do. Sometimes the customer is me, confidently ordering a chilli that my face was about to reject on behalf of the entire organisation. #productleadership #engineeringleadership #gtmengineering

  • There’s something oddly reassuring about Reddit’s “Read the rules, this is a community” attitude. You know where you stand, what kind of conversation belongs there, and whether it’s worth your time before you dive in. So I’m trying something similar here. No algorithm hacks, no growth playbook, just showing up and seeing what sticks. Also trying the new LinkedIn trend now and launching a project. If this works, I’ll pretend it was the strategy all along. P.S. LinkedIn sucks, Premium just makes it more expensive to ignore. Cancelling requires a a blood sample! • Searching for the cause of a problem while sitting in the position that creates it? I love the Twonks series; this captures a mistake in product thinking beautifully. I was tempted to fill an empty product with fake data to make it easier to understand, but I hadn’t established what was making it difficult in the first place. This is where time-to-value (TTV) becomes useful: measuring the effort between someone’s first interaction and their first meaningful outcome. The answer usually sits beyond the screen being discussed. A customer can finish a walkthrough quickly and still spend days filling in the information or struggling to fully adopt. The onboarding metric looks healthy, but the customer is still waiting for value. 🤷 The useful test is finding where the product first earns its place. Then I’d make sure someone owns the longest avoidable delay, even if fixing it requires some effort. Otherwise, it’s just time-to-vanity. #productleadership #engineeringleadership #gtmengineering
