Entrepreneur & investor | Building AI tools for better company research and investment decisions | 10+ years evaluating ventures
I am an entrepreneur and investor. For the past 10+ years, I have worked at the intersection of startups, venture capital, investing, corporate innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems. I have screened, evaluated and supported thousands of businesses across 45+ countries for investment funds, corporates, governments, foundations and development institutions, helping founders access finance, customers, education, mentors and growth opportunities. Today, I am applying that experience to build NeoInvests, an AI research and decision-support companion for self-directed investors. It helps investors research companies, verify claims, challenge assumptions, monitor important changes and document why they made a decision. Alongside building NeoInvests, I selectively help B2B startups improve their positioning, sales processes, corporate partnerships and investment readiness. I also support corporates, funds and institutions with startup sourcing, company evaluation, venture-clienting and portfolio-support projects. As Managing Director at Seedstars, I led programs across Africa, Latin America, Asia and MENA, managing a team of 30+ people and delivering 130+ accelerators and investment-readiness programs. We supported 3,000+ startups with 12,000+ hours of training, generated $20M+ in revenue and facilitated $14M+ in third-party financing. I worked closely with partners including the World Bank, IFC, EBRD, European Commission, Gates Foundation, UNDP, USAID, UNIDO, UNEP, AfDB, Visa Foundation and GIZ. Before that, at Pioneers.io, I helped build and scale an innovation consulting unit with approximately 30% annual growth. I led 45+ innovation projects for companies including Visa, Deutsche Telekom, Daimler, Airbus, BBVA, Raiffeisen Bank International, Aegon, Merck, Wien Energie, MOL Group, Iberdrola and ÖBB. I believe AI can make high-quality investment research available to far more people. It can process evidence faster, identify missing information and challenge assumptions consistently, while the final decision and responsibility remain with the investor.

Physical AI and robotics will be the next big wave. But which companies can you actually invest in today? The robot you find most impressive might belong to a private company. Some of its component suppliers are already publicly listed. Hyundai MOBIS has agreed to supply actuators, the assemblies that move the joints, for Boston Dynamics’ Atlas. LG Innotek is developing its vision systems. Schaeffler has an actuator supply agreement with British robot maker Humanoid. indie.inc Semiconductor reports sensing design wins at Unitree Robotics and AGIBOT. All four suppliers are publicly listed. These components represent a substantial part of the hardware: Schaeffler estimates that actuators account for roughly half a humanoid robot’s component costs. The map below shows ten listed companies, what they contribute and how far their robotics projects have progressed. You don’t have to limit your research to the companies putting their names on the robots.
You want to invest in robotics. But who supplies the data that lets a robot see, feel and move? Even picking up a glass requires a robot to judge distance, apply enough pressure without breaking it and adjust as the glass moves. There are listed companies building the technology behind each of those steps. Orbbec makes depth cameras for robotic vision. LG Innotek is developing vision systems with Boston Dynamics for Atlas. Novanta Inc. and Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (VPG) make sensors that measure force and torque. TDK supplies motion sensors that help track orientation. Then there is the data robots need to learn in the first place. NVIDIA provides simulation and synthetic-data tools for training robots. Orbbec has also introduced hardware for collecting human demonstrations, so training data can be gathered without operating a robot. That is the part of physical AI I find particularly interesting as an investor: the businesses supplying both the training tools and the sensors robots need once they leave the lab. The map below shows ten listed companies, what they contribute and how far their robotics work has progressed. You do not have to pick the winning humanoid brand to research this industry. Some suppliers could serve several competing robot makers.
Before paying for another AI subscription, check what you can already do for free. I put together 15 tools for researching an idea, creating the materials and building a first prototype. - ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for thinking and drafting. - Perplexity and NotebookLM for research. - Wispr Flow and Granola for capturing ideas and conversations. - Gamma, Canva and ElevenLabs for presentations, visuals and voice. - GitHub Copilot, Figma, Supabase, Netlify and Resend for building and launching. The useful part is knowing where free stops. ElevenLabs restricts commercial use. Gamma keeps its branding. Hosting and coding tools have usage caps. The PDF shows what each tool does, what is free and the catch. Start with the ones that solve a job you actually have.
