My blog just started ranking on page 1 for "AEO for Shopify" — right below Shopify's own content on the topic. Not a huge site. Not years of authority. Just a blog post that answers a question AI search is starting to ask on people's behalf. Here's what actually went into it, since I built it as much for AI answer engines as for Google: → Started with the actual question, not the keyword — "how do I get a Shopify store to show up in AI search" instead of "AEO for Shopify" → Structured it in layers an LLM can parse cleanly: schema markup, product data, content — each one scannable on its own → Wrote it to be quotable — AI Overviews and chatbots pull sentences that stand alone, not ones buried in a paragraph → Checked crawler visibility before publishing, not after — most people skip this step entirely The result isn't just a Google ranking. It's showing up in the layer of search most sites aren't optimizing for yet. AEO isn't a rebrand of SEO. It's a different set of rules stacked on top of the old ones. Most teams are still only playing the old game. #AEO #SEO #GEO
Breaking: Google just added a new way to see how your social and video content performs in Search. A new Search Console property type called "platform properties" lets you track the clicks, impressions, and exact search queries driving people to your Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Even if you don't have a website. One catch worth knowing: it only measures how your content does in Google Search, not inside the apps themselves. So the numbers will look small. Read them as a map of which posts have real search demand behind them. The bigger signal: Google has stopped seeing you as a domain. It now sees you as an entity across every platform you're on. That's already how AI search reads you. Run your platforms as one identity, not separate islands. Google's finally measuring it that way. Got access yet?
