About Luca Casamassima
My greatest passion is growing businesses and products. I love marketing and design, where I can blend creativity with strategy to make a meaningful impact. I learned this the hard way while building online businesses. I built my first “growth machine” with SEO. I bootstrapped a finance blog from zero to consistent traffic and revenue, then sold it. That experience taught me one thing: growth compounds when measurement stays simple. So I (co)founded ShortPen. ShortPen helps you generate and organize branded short links and QR codes, see where traffic comes from (source, device, location), and track real business results like signups, leads, and purchases. If you run campaigns across social, email, ads, creators, or offline materials and you want clean reporting that proves ROI, we should talk. My bigger goal: set a higher bar for “marketing tooling” UX and build the simplest tracking stack for marketers who care about clarity, speed, and trust. Outside of work, I obsess over productivity, science, and building in public.

5 years ago I thought free plans were charity for people who would never pay me Now I run one 😂 What changed? My old link tool kept raising the price and shipped nothing NOTHING Bigger invoice, same broken bulk editing 🙃 So ShortPen 's free plan gives away unlimited links, unlimited clicks and unlimited QR codes. Paid is for the heavy stuff. API, deeper analytics, more events, more seats. The rest stays free, mostly out of spite Tell me about the price increase you're still annoyed about. I need to feel less alone..

What's with this "fractional manager" trend? Somebody found a nicer way to say “consultant” or “freelance” Turns out I've been a fractional designer for years and nobody told me 😂 Fractional CMO, fractional designer, fractional support agent, fractional data analyst... We're two people building ShortPen, so every role is somebody's part-time job. Now leave a comment: What are you fractional at?
