About Maaike van Putten
I’m a software development practitioner, trainer and technical content creator. I help people boost their careers by making IT more understandable, practical... and most importantly fun. Over the past decade, I’ve personally coached hundreds of professionals transitioning into tech and helped thousands more grow their skills through books and online courses. What I love most? 💖 Helping non-IT professionals (recruiters, HR specialists, lawyers, and managers) finally get how software works, and seeing the lightbulb moments when everything clicks. Whether it’s a 1-day course to decode IT terms or a 6 month developer bootcamp (or anything in between), I love to create special learning experiences that meet people where they are. 🧠 And yes — (satirical use of the em dash alert ⚠️) — I use AI in my work. I don't think of AI as a tool for replacing people, but for making them more efficient. I write every message myself. If you are talking to me you are talking to ME. However, I use AI a lot. To brainstorm, to review, to optimize and to level up the automations and programs I create. In my training sessions, I also teach others how to use AI tools. My kids are not allowed to be on Roblox (anymore). And now I secretly have spent some time with it 😂 For research, obviously. Can really recommend this book by Zander Brumbaugh if you're considering building some Roblox games or picking up a new hobby. Still not giving my kids Roblox back though. 👀
