About Marcus Mølleskov

I am a Financial Risk professional, with a quantitative edge and experience from large banks, currently expanding my horizon to include knowledge of IT security, op. risk, compliance and financial crime prevention in the crypto sector. I have also recently become the father of two, so my ambitions to do professional board work has been paused to leave time for my family, but I still intend to take that ambition up again in a few years, when sleep patterns and evenings become more regular.

  • ⚠️ A warning for anyone working in crypto: a fake podcast invitation nearly got me to run a command on my computer. I was contacted on LinkedIn about sharing my crypto journey on a supposed CoinDesk podcast. We booked an intro call through Calendly, and the person who reached out to me wanted to send the Google Meet link in a message later which I thought was odd, but sure why not. When I joined, a participant displayed as “Jiawei Zhu” kept his camera off. He said he was the producer and that the interviewer was waiting on a separate webinar platform and asked me to join her there. I clicked “Join the meeting.” A file downloaded "StreamYardInstaller.dmg", followed by instructions to “install” it by typing a command into my console. I refused. He urged me to do it because the interviewer was waiting. I asked him to bring her into our existing Google Meet instead. After several more attempts to get me to open or install the file, he said he would reschedule and ask his tech team for a solution. Then he left abruptly. When I told my team, I learned that I wasn’t the only one who had received a supposed CoinDesk podcast invitation. Please be careful with interview and podcast invitations, even when the outreach, booking page and initial meeting look convincing. If joining requires a download or a command in your terminal, stop and verify the invitation through an official channel. Share this with someone in crypto who might be approached next.

  • What will shape EU payments and digital assets in 2027? The EBA’s new work programme offers four big takeaways. 1️⃣ Payments rules move toward implementation. If PSD3 and the PSR are adopted as expected, the EBA plans work on safeguarding, own funds and strong customer authentication. 2️⃣ MiCA supervision deepens. The EBA will assess the significance of asset-referenced and e-money tokens and work toward more consistent supervision across the EU. 3️⃣ Operational resilience stays in focus. Under DORA, critical technology providers will face closer oversight, especially on cybersecurity and emerging AI risks. 4️⃣ Efficiency becomes a priority. The EBA plans simpler reporting, better data sharing and more consistent supervisory practices. For digital asset businesses, these priorities raise a practical question: are your payments, controls and technology partners ready for closer scrutiny? At Januar, we help businesses operate across the EEA with EUR accounts, payments, custody and conversion. No bank required. Which of these four priorities will have the biggest impact on your 2027 plans? #Payments #MiCA #DORA #DigitalAssets
