Director of Engineering @ Deel | I ship 0→1 products with AI and scale global distributed teams
I build products — because I enjoy helping people, solving real customer problems, staying close to them, and making sth beautiful on the way. I started 14 years ago. Built 17 products. Most failed. A few worked — one hit $50M ARR and grew into a global, distributed business. Here’s my story: 2012: Second year of university, I started as a hardcore C/C++ engineer at an antivirus company. To get in, I built a Windows hook in 2 days. 2014: Rode the mobile wave — built an mPOS Windows Phone app for the Russian market (yes, I know Windows Phone). Microsoft sponsored it. 2015: Joined EPAM. Started in maintenance and support — until I rebuilt a broken tool from scratch for Luxottica & Oakley, accidentally kicking off a new dev stream for EPAM. 2016: Deep in cross-platform Xamarin — built an app to start your coffee brewing remotely. Keurig especially loved the coffee animation on iPhone. 2017: Officially stepped into the web world — Fortune 500 clients like Wolters Kluwer and their eJournals platform (2M+ MAU). 2019: The year I knew I had to build on my own. Co-founded Whatashot (fans capture their moment during a football match), joined the Demium accelerator, partnered with Codelegs to launch audio-watermarking tech. Applied to YC twice. Launched 5 products. Most failed. 2021: Turned down Deel's offer after meeting Alex Bouaziz — right when they hit unicorn. 2022: WhatsApp'd Yaron Lavi about joining Deel. Came on to start Deel Mobility product — with 1 frontend engineer, and to learn how to build an exponential startup. 2024: Promoted to Director of Engineering. Took Deel Mobility 0→1 across 70+ countries, integrated the Legalpad acquisition, and built 3 of the most efficient cross-functional distributed teams at Deel. 2026: Took on a new challenge — building Deel Retirement 0→1, launching UK and US first, building AI-native teams. It's been a ride. My results: 1. 17 products built, 2x founder 2. Built Deel Mobility 0→1 to $50M ARR 3. 30+ people hired across 300+ interviews 4. 5 global teams, people from 14+ countries How can I help you: 1. PE firms — make the right technology investment decisions. 2. Founders — sharpen your value prop, ship a product that wins. 3. Hiring managers — hire a real A-player. 4. Professionals — find your angle to land your dream role. If you've got sth else in mind, don't hesitate to DM me. Thanks for reading my story. Since you've made it this far, you'd better follow me for more. I write about building products with AI, hiring & building teams, technology vision — and I share cool stories along the way.

I think this might be the best Deel social campaign ever, because it was real. In just 6 days Snoop's International Ice Cream Taster job offer gained 200,000+ applicants. Deel itself got 4,294,295 searches last week. All of it because no matter where you are: studying culinary school in Tokyo, creating content in Ecuador, taking a smoko break in Australia - you can apply for this position online. And it doesn't end up with the paycheck only, you can have a benefits package too. Unlimited ice cream. Company car. Flexible time off. Work from anywhere. Snoop Dogg as your boss. Apply at deel.com/snoop
I built a demo for Deel Retirement with one prompt and 5 mins instead of fixing a generation script that takes a week. Fully working, API connected, same look and feel as production. Thanks to Deelable, built by Dani Ramírez Martos for everyone at Deel to shape their demos into what our clients exactly need. Here is how it works under the hood. 1. DB seeder. A base data seed for the fixed parts, the rest is connected to Claude to generate directly from your prompt. 2. Mocked API. You don't execute and wait for complex business logic, yet the data looks perfect to present to a client. 3. Frontend. Shipped the same as prod in one bundle, yet you can generate new pages that get incorporated into the build. 4. Preset templates on top, built per product for the story you need to tell. I used to spend weeks in engineering effort to fix demos based on sales needs. Now I give reps a ready to go playground where they can shape the product to tell the story they want.
I got social burnout. Took a week off LinkedIn and X. My post impressions went down to 2,065 last week, from 59,002 for the last month. I wanted time to think, since posting requires significant effort and creativity, and I felt I was running out of wind. While I was recharging, I realised that in a world where AI-generated content prevails - where companies like Pocket FM hit a $500M run rate with AI-generated stories - the only thing that matters is to be real. And that is what I want to continue doing with my content. Keeping it genuine and valuable. Posting less, but giving more. Ironically, Pocket FM's co-founder and CEO said it himself: "We want to create great IPs that last 100 years, and that needs humans." Well, I want to actually do it.
