Messaging for b2b tech | Making complex products easier to understand, trust, and sell
Your buyers are piecing together a story about your business before they ever speak to you. I call that your Market Narrative. It's shaped by everything they encounter: → Your website. → Your sales deck. → Your public profiles (eg LinkedIn). → How your team talks about the business. Founders know their companies inside out. They understand the customer, the problem, and why the company matters. But the market doesn't. Buyers, investors, future employees, and partners are getting to know your company through the public-facing assets you've built. The challenge is that these assets are often created in isolation. 9/10 times the website, the founder, and the sales deck are telling three different stories. As a result, the market is left trying to piece together who you are, what you do, and why you matter. Buyers don't spend hours trying to understand companies. They make a judgement call and move on. The companies that earn attention, trust, and opportunity are the ones telling the same clear story everywhere a prospect looks. That's where I come in. I help founders build their Market Narrative. I do that by: → Clarifying what makes the company different and worth paying attention to. → Aligning the founder, company, website, and sales story around a single narrative. → Positioning the founder as a credible voice in the market. WHY WORK WITH ME? → Helped founders shape how customers, partners, investors, and peers understand their businesses. → Worked with founder-led B2B tech companies including Software Finder, Avaza, Brigient, Blue Orca Solutions, NKST, and DIGISquared. → Translated founder expertise into narratives applied across websites, sales conversations, thought leadership, and investor discussions. WAYS TO WORK WITH ME → The Market Narrative A 6-week engagement where we define the story your company should own, uncover the disconnect between how you see the business and how the market experiences it, and create a narrative your team can use across your website, founder presence, sales materials, thought leadership, and customer conversations. The outcome isn't a collection of assets. It's a market narrative your team can confidently communicate everywhere. And fixing the Market Narrative changes what every other GTM channel can do.

Six months after moving to Canada, I quit the job I absolutely could not afford to quit. I was a new immigrant with a two-and-a-half-year-old. My husband had only just found work. I didn’t have a Canadian driving licence, we had one car, and my daughter had started daycare == which meant she was there for a week and then home sick for the next. Every time I needed to work from home to take care of her, it became an entire situation. And one day, I thought: I work too damn hard to still need someone else’s permission to manage my own life. My husband started his job in October 2022. I resigned in November. The next day, I started naming my business. Within a week, I had registered Spark Media, the business that eventually became Jumpact. I wish I could say it began with a grand vision. It didn’t. I was a tired new immigrant with a sick toddler who had finally had enough. Apparently, that was all the business plan I needed! 🙃 What's your founder story? p.s. this picture is taken literally one month after we landed in Canada
We’ve spent the last two years asking AI to make things. - Write the post. - Draft the email. - Create the video. - Generate the image. Now it can do the WORK too. - Publish the content. - Run parts of your SEO. - Check a 1000 product pages while you snooze. - Let a salesperson rehearse a conversation before having the real one. So basically… AI isn’t just telling us what to do anymore. It’s literally starting to carry it through. Which means execution is getting cheaper. But someone still has to decide: - What should we say? - Which market should we pursue? - What do we want to be known for? - What is worth doing, and what’s a complete waste of time? Everyone will have access to AI. That ain’t the upper hand anymore! The advantage will be knowing WHAT you want it to do. -> Give AI a good strategy and it can execute it brilliantly. -> Give it a bad one and it can create a much bigger mess, much faster 💀 These midnight AI thoughts are brought to you by an evening cup of coffee and an overworked brain 🙃 Have a great weekend y’all!
I was wrong... I thought if we got the messaging strategy right enough, the rest would follow. So I spent a lot of time getting the story right: → Understanding the buyer and the market → Finding the white space → Figuring out what the company should be known for → Turning it all into clear messaging And I still believe in all of that. But I’ve realised I was spending way too long trying to make the message “right” before putting it in front of actual buyers. Because the market will always tell you something the strategy document simply cannot: → What people respond to → What they ignore → What they repeat back → What still needs explaining And that’s the part I want to bring MUCH earlier into the work. So I’m changing how my sprint works. Instead of spending 6 weeks building out the messaging before it really gets to meet the market, I’m cutting that down to 2. We’ll figure out what your business should be known for, turn that into buyer-facing assets, put them out there, and sharpen from what we learn. I’m opening a few spots for the new 2-week sprint this fall. If everyone in your B2B tech company seems to be telling a different version of the story, send me a message.
