  • I keep noticing the same gap when I talk to some junior designers. They know Figma. They know how to create user flows. They can build polished UI. But when I bring up concepts like Lean UX, Agile UX, MVPs, learning loops, sprints, iteration, or talking to customers — there’s often a blank face. And honestly, these concepts matter. Because product design isn’t just about designing screens. You need to understand how products are built, how teams work, how ideas are tested, how feedback changes decisions, and how design fits into an Agile environment. These concepts changed the way I approach product design too. And I learnt that the hard way. Early in my career, I was much more focused on getting the design right than understanding the bigger product context. Over time, I realised that knowing why we’re building something, how we validate it, and how we work with product and engineering is just as important as knowing how to design it. So if you’re a junior designer, don’t just learn how to make good-looking screens. Learn how the product actually gets built. And just to clarify, I’m not calling out all junior designers here. There are many who already understand and apply these concepts really well. I’m talking about a gap I’ve noticed in some of the designers I’ve interacted with. #ProductDesign #UXDesign #LeanUX #AgileUX #DesignCareer

  • Google Maps teaches us UX without ever teaching us UX. You don’t open it thinking about design principles. You just use it. But look closer, and you’ll find some of the most important UX laws working quietly in the background: Law of Proximity Related information is grouped together, so you understand what belongs together. Hick’s Law You’re not given 20 navigation choices. You get the next action you need. Law of Focus The route, next turn, and ETA get the attention when they matter most. Law of Simplicity You don’t need to understand everything on the map to get where you’re going. Jakob’s Law Familiar patterns make navigation feel instantly intuitive. The interesting part? Good UX often feels invisible. You’re not thinking about the interface. You’re thinking about where you’re going. That’s the goal. Which UX law do you notice most in Google Maps? #UXDesign #ProductDesign #UserExperience #UXLaws #DesignPrinciples

  • When you’re about to ship the project and the client suddenly says: “Hey, this interaction isn’t working.” Me: closes Figma opens ChatGPT + Claude “Guys… looks like we’re not designing today. We’re debugging.”
