Most seed startups don’t need a marketing team. They need one person who finds the channel, ships the campaigns and owns the number. That’s the work I’ve done in very different rooms: → a B2B SaaS taken from 1 to 13 markets, with 10+ telco reseller deals → 14K followers built in public with Connecting the Dots → startups I advise through Seedstars and Founder Institute (VC4A Top 10 mentor, North Africa) I learned growth without a budget. Small teams, new markets, no ad money: every channel had to earn its place through partners, content and community. That’s why I build systems that keep working when I’m not in the room. Now I work as a founding growth marketer for pre-seed and seed teams. Open to founding GTM roles (remote or relocation) and contract work. Hiring your first marketer or need a growth partner? Ive been a little quiet on LinkedIn for the past two months. I needed a break. I spent that time exploring Substack and X, discovering amazing creators, builders, and products across niches I barely knew existed. In 90 days, I grew my Substack to 879 subscribers. And honestly, I loved every bit of it. Then I came back to LinkedIn. My average impressions went from 2,800 to 200. 💀 But the numbers arent even the worst part. I left because I was tired of people becoming AI experts overnight with every Claude or GPT update. The endless AI slop. The same recycled advice disguised as groundbreaking insights. And somehow, my feed got even worse while I was away. Motivational quotes. Politics takes. Sports content (which I actually love, just not necessarily on LinkedIn). So, Im back to publishing here. Not because I missed the algorithm, but because there are still great people building great things here. And I have a lot to share ! Lets see how it goes.
Not every AI tool needs to promise you 10x growth :) Since exploring Substack and Twitter, Ive come across some genuinely useful tools that deserve more attention. But this isnt: → The tool stack that books you 350 meetings in a week. → Another list of 50+ tools to schedule 90 days of content. → A Claude-powered marketing agent promising to replace your entire team. Youve probably seen enough of those already. These are 5 tools I tested that solve different, very real problems for founders. 👇 1. Guideless Turn features into tutorials No product academy or help center yet? Turn product features into tutorial videos in seconds. 2. Nebula AI AI agents that work with you An AI workspace for getting things done with agents, not just chatting with a chatbot. Worth exploring if youre looking for an alternative to Claude. 3. AthenaHQ Get your brand discovered by AISEO is evolving. Understand how your brand shows up in AI search and work on becoming more visible where people are looking for answers. 4. Cosmos Looking for inspiration? Discover, collect, and organize visual references. Think Pinterest, with a different approach to creative discovery. 5. Hyperframes | Video Production (Singapore) Make motion design easier Create motion graphics and animated content without building every scene from scratch. Different tools. Different problems. No promise that AI will magically run your company for you. Just useful things worth exploring. Whats one tool youve tried recently that made you think, “How did I not know about this before?” Drop it in the comments.
Your product might be doing less marketing than it could. In the AI era, people can build, compare, and try things faster than ever. The old playbook of capturing a lead first and showing value later is starting to look a little outdated. 1. Free usage is a marketing investment. Dont treat every free user as a cost. Give people enough value to understand why your product matters. 2. Your product can be the lead magnet. Instead of asking people to fill out a form to learn what you do, let them experience it for themselves. 3. Building in public helps people trust what youre building. Share the process, the decisions, the experiments, and the lessons. Give people a reason to care before theyre ready to buy. 4. Signups dont necessarily mean youve built something people love. Look at activation, retention, referrals, and whether users would genuinely miss your product if it disappeared. 5. PLG doesnt mean building for everyone. You still need a clear ICP. The goal isnt to attract everyone; its to deliver undeniable value to the people who need your product most. Your product isnt just what you sell. It can be one of your strongest growth channels. That doesnt make sales or marketing irrelevant. It means the product experience should do more of the work: showing value, building trust, and giving people a reason to come back. Are we still treating the product as the destination of our marketing, when it could be the starting point? Inspired by Elena Verna ! full article in the comments.
