I remember where I started... Falcon E Racing. Whatever I do in my life, I will always be most proud of being part of the Falcon E-Racing team—the first-ever electric Formula Student car in Sri Lanka. The journey began in 2017, initiated by our seniors in the 14th batch, Shehara Perera and Nimantha Dasanayake. I was honored to captain the project during 2021. It was much like starting a new company: building a product from scratch, securing partners, seeking funding, and managing a team through many challenges and disasters. Now, the current team is finally set to compete in Spain this year. As we set our sights on Formula Student Spain, we need your support to get there. Every contribution brings us one step closer to representing Sri Lanka on the world stage. Crowd funding link. https://lnkd.in/gz4FpyUa Built on dreams. JR Gamage Lihil Uthpala Subasinghe
We are still finding product-market fit. During the past few months, we started several ventures, and all of these ideas finally converged into one simple idea, and that became the new venture. After peeling off every layer, we asked one very simple question: "What's the role of a human in the world of AI?" That's what we wanted to answer, and this is our perspective. AI is becoming dominant in both the virtual and physical worlds. Every day, new brands are forming and existing brands are deploying new ventures or new features. Even the incumbents are struggling to maintain their position. While all of that is happening — while intelligence is being outsourced to machines — humans will retain one thing, and that is for sure. The purchase decision for a product/service in any economy or any industry will always come back to a human. That means whatever products or services are developed or manufactured using AI, from whatever brand, that product or service needs to be sold to a human, and a human will make the final decision to purchase. 🫵 That is confirmed. Otherwise, the entire economy would not exist. The best insight in all of this efficient, productive, and fast-moving world is that humans will always prefer to purchase something recommended by another human. Of course, AI shopping agents will play a big role in purchasing decisions. But when it comes to shopping agents, cost is the only non-human variable that will affect a purchasing decision — an AI agent will find the most cost-effective solution. All other variables, like reviews, hype, trends, and quality, are human perceptions that will affect the purchase decision. So, what if any person could organize their opinions and perceptions about a certain industry or economy, build a community around themselves, and become a brand ambassador for the brands serving that community? That's the influencer market. The creator economy. That is not a new thing. But we believe the definition of an influencer needs to be rewritten. Influencers will have a major role in the economy of the future. The new service industry will be built on influencers. This new middle layer, between brands and their customers, is still unorganized. Every person will have their own store or AI agent to influence their own community. We believe this needs to be a layer built on aggregating existing social media platforms and new AI assistants. We are still looking for product-market fit. This is our perspective of the future ☝ — unless AI kills us all. 🗿 Polysocial
This is something I have been thinking for a long time. Still thinking.
