About Saif - ur - Rehman
I'm a Computer Science graduate at FAST-NUCES Islamabad,, with hands-on experience building AI systems, full-stack web applications, and deep learning models from scratch. My work spans the full AI engineering stack — from training CNNs and Transformers for cybersecurity classification, to building multi-phase agentic pipelines with LangGraph, RAG-based semantic search engines, and generative video systems. On the web side, I've shipped full-stack products using Next.js, React, FastAPI, and deployed backends on cloud infrastructure including Tencent Cloud. During my internship at the KDD Research Lab (FAST-NUCES), I built deep learning models to detect and classify DoS and DDoS network attacks — working directly with faculty researchers on real datasets. I'm actively looking for full-time roles or internships in AI/ML Engineering, Full-Stack Development, or anything at the intersection of both. A little Late but this is FrameForge, and the idea behind it started from something pretty simple. Me and my teammates Rohaan Khalid, Saad Abdullah and Muhammad Zayan are all big anime fans, and one day we just thought why not build something around the thing we love watching so much. FrameForge is an AI tool that takes two anime keyframes and generates all the frames that sit in between them, so a couple of drawings can turn into smooth animation. It sounded exciting when we started but there was a stretch in the middle where we were completely stuck and honestly half of us thought it was just not doable. The anime art style made everything harder than we expected and we kept running into walls with the models. But we stuck with it, chipped away at the problem bit by bit, and somehow made it work. Really grateful for this team and everything we figured out along the way. On the tech side, the pipeline uses the ToonCrafter model to generate the frames in between, with RIFE at the end to smooth it all out. The model was too heavy to run on Colab or Kaggle, so we packed it into a Docker image and ran it on a serverless GPU on RunPod, with the frontend hosted on Render. I recently had the chance to solve a real wrold problem for my cousin's company, JAAD Industry (Plastic and bottle manufacturing), and honestly it feels really good. They were struggling with keeping track of their daily inventory and misclenous expenses manually. I spent the last few weeks building a custom web app to handle their stock management, an attendence system for their workers, and a secure finance tracker. It might not be the most extraordinary piece of tech ever made, but actually applying my learnings to help my close relatives and seeing them get genuine value out of it has been a huge boost for me. Sometimes just building something that works and helps people is the best reward.
