  • content isn't dead. you are. just went on my first ever podcast and I'm genuinely worried I may have delivered the best rant of my entire career and everything from here is downhill. 〰️ this is for everyone here who ran out of ideas and blamed the industry. 〰️ this is for everyone here who ran out of things to say and decided nobody was listening. 〰️ this is for everyone who posted the same thing for three years and wondered why it stopped working. thank you big legend Penny Warnock ✨ for having me and being the most excellent host!!!

  • i built a little Vinted tool with Claude this weekend and i'm unreasonably proud of it 🧺 just before i left australia 4 years ago, i took photos of a whole pile of clothes to sell and never listed a single one. categorising + typing a life's worth of clothes by hand was the final frontier for me. now i take the photos + my tool handles basically everything else. here's how it works: (1) sorting hat 〰️ i dumped 250 photos into an input folder and walked away. it worked out which shots were the same item, read the brand + size off the labels (44 / 17½ is apparently an XL) and gave each one its own folder. (2) boring fields 〰️ the dropdowns i used to give up on. brand, category, condition, colour, material. every item in a markdown doc before i'd finished my sandwich. (3) copy 〰️ a title + description for every item, plus my secret weapon: a "best paired with" line. i wrote the first one for a prada shirt (best paired with a martini and a cigarette) and let it run with the rest in my voice. it didn't nail all of them, but it got 80% of the way (acceptable use of ai for copy btw). (4) privacy 〰️ the bit i never would've thought of. iphone photos are HEIC files with your home gps hidden inside, so it converts them to jpegs and strips the location. nothing leaves my laptop knowing where i live (amsterdam). (5) human in the loop 〰️ everything lands in one .md file. copy, paste, then price it a little above whatever vinted recommends (lol), publish, next. you may ask "why not automate the upload too?" claude + playwright could've done all 40 items, but vinted's terms ban bots on the site (and they should, nobody wants a marketplace run by robots 👀). should i chuck this on GitHub ? (i refuse to make you comment VINTED below, just tell me if you'd use it) EDIT: HERE'S THE LINK https://git.new/vinted
