About Andrea Henderson

Exec Search Pro helping biotech, value-based care, digital health companies & hospitals hire transformational C-suite & Board leaders. Partner, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Board Search | Board Member | Investor | AI + HR

𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 | 𝐒𝐇𝐑𝐌 𝐀𝐈 + 𝐇𝐈 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 | 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 | 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 Most executive searches start with a job description. The best ones start with a harder question: what does this organization actually need to become? That's the work I do. I'm an Executive Talent Strategist and search consultant with DHR Global, partnering with CEOs, boards, investors, and CHROs — primarily across healthcare and life sciences — on the leadership decisions that determine whether organizations grow, transform, or stall. Executive hiring is consequential in ways most job descriptions never capture. The right leader changes what's possible. The person who sits in that seat shapes everything that follows — strategy, culture, risk, growth. Two things I believe strongly: Talent is an HR issue. It's also a business issue, a governance issue, and a risk issue. I pound the table on the need for HR in the boardroom — because organizations that treat people strategy as a side conversation are quietly building the conditions for their own disruption. AI is reshaping the leadership landscape in ways that make it challenging to govern. As a SHRM AI + Human Intelligence Facilitator, I work with leaders navigating that shift — not around it. On this page, I write about executive search, board and C-suite leadership, governance, talent strategy, and the future of work. I also write about women's health and health equity — because leaders in healthcare determine who gets cared for. That's not a side topic for me. It's part of my “why.” If you're hiring for a critical executive or board role, thinking about succession or leadership risk, or looking for a speaker on these topics — let's connect!

  • What I’m about to say may sound a little harsh. So many people ask for time to pick my brain. They want to get on my schedule to talk about their board journey. They want confirmation that they’re ready or that their board bio is strong. They want introductions. They want opportunities. I cannot accommodate every request for a one-on-one conversation. But on Tuesday, a room has been curated specifically for this purpose. How Women Lead has organized an in-person gathering in New York (along with gatherings in other cities across the country) for sitting board members and board-ready executives. THIS is what you’ve been asking for! The people. The information. The introductions. The opportunities. If you’re serious, you need to be there. 🔗Link in comments. I hope to see you. 👀

  • Who is sitting around your table when you have a difficult decision to make? Who challenges your assumptions, helps you see what you may be missing, and tells you the truth when the truth is uncomfortable? Tomorrow, we’re going to build that table. During #GetOnBoard Week 2026, Liz Atlee and I will lead a hands-on session on creating and using your own AI Board of Advisors. You’ll identify five advisors you want in your corner, define each person’s role and perspective, and begin using their collective wisdom to guide your board journey. Before the session: 1. Choose the AI tool you’ll use. ChatGPT or Claude is recommended. Create your account and sign in before we begin. 2. Have one decision in mind that you would like help making. For example: • Should I pursue this board opportunity? • How should I position myself for my next role? • Where should I invest my time, money, or visibility? • What am I avoiding because I’m afraid of the answer? You’ll leave with an AI Board of Advisors you can continue consulting, challenging, and updating long after the session ends. Wednesday, September 16 10:00 a.m. PT | 1:00 p.m. ET Come with a decision. Leave with a board. • In the room where it happened! Last night was a huge success. Nearly 100 board-ready executives and sitting directors gathered to share insights, expand our networks, and have honest conversations about what boards need now. Board opportunities are rarely found by submitting an application. They move through relationships. Referrals. Reputation. And rooms where people can see how you think, hear what you know, and understand the value you bring. That is why #GetOnBoard Week matters. Thank you to How Women Lead, our incredible speakers, Pamela Neferkará Alice C. Brennan, NACD.DC Farha Aslam, NACD.DC @Robin Nunn Judy Chambers Julie Castro Abrams and every woman who came ready to learn, contribute, connect, and help another woman move closer to the boardroom. The room was full. The energy was high. And connections were made. I was in the room where it happened!
