About Chase Binnie

CEO of RetailWire - daily briefing to 20,000+ retail industry leaders. Roundtable host and speaker. Superconnector for retailers, tech, and capital | Bentonville, AR

I'm the CEO of RetailWire, retail's daily briefing since 2002, reaching 100,000+ readers monthly and 20,000+ daily newsletter subscribers. I talk to the people running retail. I figure out what's actually happening. Over the years I've interviewed and worked with top executives at Walmart, Amazon, Intel, IBM, SAP, Salesforce, HP, Zebra, NCR, and Microsoft, plus founders and operators at companies like Batteries Plus, Tractor Supply Company, and more. I'm based in Bentonville, Arkansas. Walmart's backyard, CPG capital of the world. That location puts me in the room with brands launching products, tech companies building the tools, and investors funding the next wave. What I do day to day: - Host fireside chats and panels at major retail conferences (eTail, Shoptalk, Consumer Impact Summit, Home Delivery World). - RetailWire BrainTrust, a network of 100+ retail strategists who weigh in on every story we publish - Connect retail tech companies with the retailers who actually need their solutions, through content, events, and facilitated introductions Before RetailWire, I acquired 8+ businesses across media, marketing, and e-commerce. Turned undervalued assets into scalable companies. Raised over $3M+ in capital and managed private investor relations with partners. That investor lens still shapes how I see retail. I'm someone who has bought, built, and sold companies. I also run SEO Counselors, a marketing agency in Bentonville. We help companies get found in organic and AI search results. If you're a retail operator, a tech company selling into retail, or an investor in the space, my network is the shortcut. Send me a message.

  • This photo is from 16 years ago in Venezuela. I'm glad I traveled before I had any responsibilities. Ages 18 to 25 should be filled with... ... risk and adventure. Age 25-35 should be also filled with risk and adventure. Just add commitment and discipline. Around age 35, when your naive optimism about those (often) lifelong commitments becomes challenged.. aka when your plan gets destroyed by the unforgiving storms of life.. then you have a choice. 1. Become jaded and negative. Think like a victim and start taking jabs at "successful" people, calling them lucky. Slow death by self-resentment. Or 2. Cut the ties. Let the ship sink. Land on shore in a makeshift life raft. Grieve the old efforts & "wasted" energy. AND REBUILD. It's never the end. Until it's the 'end'. So promise yourself you'll shut out "option 1", and give every seat to "option 2" until there are no seats left. TODAY is the only day you can influence. And no matter who you are or where you came from... You have today.
