About Florah Sesera

Digital tourism strategist | Helping Travel and Hospitality brands build high-impact digital ecosystem through digital Products, Content marketing and Partnerships strategies | Travel Industry Trainer & Speaker

I help travel brands turn their content and digital products into experiences that drive action. This means improving how they can connect with travellers online, and how they turn attention into enquiries, bookings, and sales. To date, I have contributed to digital products used by a community of over 42k luxury travel advisors. These products help them sell destinations better and translate into real booking decisions across the travel trade. I have also contributed to destination-facing initiatives such as the River Cruise Expo in Paris, translating destination and product storytelling into structured trade engagement environments that connect suppliers directly with high-value travel advisors and decision-makers. My work spans multiple layers of the destination digital ecosystem: - For tourism boards and DMOs, I help them move beyond campaign-based visibility into structured digital ecosystems that strengthen destination positioning, improve trade engagement, and build long-term market demand. This includes building systems that strengthen how a destination is understood online, improve engagement with the right travel trade audiences, and ensure that every digital touchpoint contributes to sustained reputation and demand generation over time. - For destination training systems, I design structured learning and enablement frameworks that equip tourism boards and destination organisations with the tools to educate travel advisors effectively. These systems go beyond one-off training sessions and focus on continuous capability building that improves how destinations are represented and sold in market. - For membership platforms, I build digital environments where curated destination intelligence, campaign assets, and learning content are housed in one accessible system for travel advisors. These platforms ensure destinations remain present in the daily workflow of the trade, not only during campaign periods. -

  • Here’s an interesting thought for us to ponder this week: You can’t be a digital-first destination with analogue operators. We can build the most sophisticated digital journey and software for our destinations, but we can’t be a digital-first destination with analogue operators. If the operator the traveller is eventually handed over to is still working in an analogue way, the digital journey breaks. The traveller may have had a seamless experience getting to the point of enquiry, only to encounter a completely different experience when they are ready to take the next step. The truth is, the traveller doesn't experience our organisations in isolation. They experience the tourism board, the DMO, the DMC and the operator as a single journey. What happens at the operator level therefore becomes part of the destination's digital experience, whether the destination has control over it or not. So, in our pursuit of embracing digital-first tourism, we also have to ensure that operators and small tourism SMEs have the digital capability to succeed. Not just to participate in the digital ecosystem, but to be able to carry that experience through when the traveller reaches them. Otherwise, we are just building a digital front door that leads into an analogue business.

  • One of the biggest misconceptions in marketing is that great content requires a massive production budget. Yes, a bigger budget can give you access to more resources. But resources alone don’t guarantee that your marketing will connect, build trust, or convert. Join Ziada Abeid and I inour upcoming masterclass, Small Budget, Big Brand Feel: From Content to Conversion, we’ll explore how businesses can make their marketing work harder- regardless of the size of their team or budget.

  • If you’re a travel brand trying to reach international clients, you might think the answer is a bigger marketing budget. I wrote a short article highlighting three of the many things you can work on to make sure you can still reach a wider audience, even with a small budget. if you have a bigger budget, this article will encourage you to take a closer look at how that budget is being used and whether it helps your entire digital ecosystem to be connected. Remember, the customer doesn’t see the size of the invoice you sent to the web designer or copywriter. They see what you created, and whether it inspires them to travel Have a read and let me know your thoughts.
