19 y/o Co-Founder @ A* AI (10K+ users) | LSE PPE ’29 | Investing & Markets | VC-Backed | 4 A*s
I'm a 19-year-old at LSE building an AI startup for students. I entered university with 4 A*s and a revision system that worked for me. But when I tried using ChatGPT for A-Levels, it didn't understand my exam board. That's why a friend and I built the tool we wished existed. A* AI is a GCSE & A-Level exam-prep platform trained on the brain of A* students. With coverage across 30 subjects, the AI is designed to get you top grades. We launched the first demo in our first term of uni. Within a week, it reached 150K+ organic Instagram views and we gained our first paying customers. We now have 10K+ users, backing from Sterling Road VC, and a team of 30 content creators generating 250K+ views each week. I'm also really interested in investing and markets. This summer I sourced UHNW investors for a €20M private equity fund, then mapped 2,500+ UK wealth managers by AUM and strategy. Before that I published macro research on how the Iran conflict hit UK inflation and energy markets. And at 17 I coordinated ESG campaigns across 50+ schools in 11+ countries, aiming to shift endowments away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy. I write about education, entrepreneurship, and marketing. If you're a student preparing for GCSEs or A-Levels, check out astarai.co.uk. If you're a founder, investor, or content creator, I'd love to connect.

If you're about to start uni, do this one thing. (I wish someone had told me this before.) This time last year, I was about to start uni. I was excited, but also scared I wouldn't make any friends. I know walking into a room full of strangers is daunting. But let me tell you a story. There was an Instagram page where LSE freshers could post a short bio. Even though it was slightly corny, I decided to give it a go. A day later, someone messaged me. He saw I did PPE and said he loved philosophy. We became really good friends and he's genuinely one of the most kind-hearted people I've met. We even went to Greece together this summer with a few friends. But the only reason this happened is because I put myself out there. The people you meet during freshers will define your entire uni experience. So go out there and meet as many people as possible.
My best performing post got 160K+ impressions but only 10 comments. (This shouldn't be possible.) For context, it was a post explaining how to use past papers properly to get top grades. One in every 16,000 people commented, 45 times lower than my usual rate. Here's why it got so many views: • It was genuinely useful, so people read it slowly • That increased dwell time, which boosted the reach And here's why it got so few comments: • It lacked emotion. Nobody felt anything reading it • No call to action. I didn't ask people to comment, so they didn't People got what they came for and left. It's crazy to think my best post is simultaneously my worst. The LinkedIn algorithm is weird. What do you think?
