Helping aspiring data analysts land jobs | 125k+ community | sharing real workflows & projects
I help aspiring data analysts stand out and land real opportunities. Not by copying tutorials Not by building one-off projects But by learning how to think, build, and communicate like an actual analyst I’ve worked across data analytics building dashboards, analyzing campaigns, and turning messy data into insights that drive decisions Along the way, I kept running into the same problem most people don’t talk about: It’s not learning the tools It’s knowing what to build, why it matters, and how to show it That’s what I focus on I break down what actually matters if you want to get into (or grow in) data: - real project ideas that stand out beyond tutorials - how to think through problems like an analyst - practical workflows using SQL, Excel, Tableau, and modern data tools - mistakes that keep people stuck applying for jobs Everything is based on real experience, not theory Community & Reach: I’ve grown a community of 120k+ aspiring and early-career data analysts on LinkedIn My goal is simple: Make data analytics more practical, accessible, and grounded in how the work actually happens Beyond Content: I’m also building tools and systems to help people stay consistent and improve over time as they build projects and skills If you're working toward a career in data, you're in the right place For partnerships, collaborations, or tools: [email removed]

A lot of people say they want to become a data analyst But they don't do what it takes... You need to sacrifice TIME And not just here or there, you are going up against crazy people like me Instead of watching tv at night, I'd watch a course Instead of hanging out with friends on weekends, I'd study Instead of going out to lunch at work, I'd apply to jobs That 16 hour course that takes someone 3-4 weeks to finish, I'd knock out in a weekend All of this while I had a 12 hour a day FT job I'm not going to lie, it sucked but I got through it and I knew it was only short term Everything I did was a once-and-done situation so I just powered through It should not take anyone over 6 months from start to finish to get their first data job IF they really want it If you want an even shorter amount of time to sacrifice, join me at Analyst Hive where I'll speedrun you to your first data job: https://lnkd.in/guByMtEk Look.. getting into data is tough and competition is experienced With everyone as skilled as you (or better) and with more experience than you at every single job you apply to You need to out grind them and get in front of the right people It's the only way to the 6 figure remote job you're wishing for
Talking about data analytics with your non-technical friends is exhausting... Friend: “How was work?” Me: “Pretty good.” Friend: “Nice.” Me: “Although now that you mention it, ‘pretty good’ is a subjective measure. We should probably define the KPI before continuing.” Friend: “What?” Me: “Also, what’s the date range?” Friend: “I was just asking about work.” Me: “Right, but compared to what period?” Friend: “Yesterday?” Me: “Perfect. Let me pull the data.” Friend: “Please don’t.” Me: “Interesting.” Friend: “What?” Me: “Yesterday was actually 14% worse.” Friend: “I don’t care.” Me: “That’s fine. I’ll put it in a dashboard.” Friend: “Do not make a dashboard.” Me: “Too late.” Friend: “Why is there a slicer?” Me: “In case you want to filter my happiness by weekday.” Friend: “I’m leaving.” Me: “Before you go, can you clarify the next steps?” This is why Data Analysts only hang out with other Data Analysts. Not because we want to. Everyone else stopped inviting us places. Come hang out with 10,000+ other analysts: https://lnkd.in/e4wbDS3C You're always welcome here
I feel bad for anyone trying to learn data in the AI era Here's why... It's the whole "why do math by hand when you have a calculator" AI will get you so far and I mean fully build out your resume, linkedin, projects for your portfolio, write-ups, emails, the list goes on Like if you wanted, you have take any idea, have AI create your dataset, write the SQL for you, and all you have to do is go make coffee I'm sure you could even get a job doing all of this if you fool enough people into thinking you know the tech stack as well as your projects present themselves The real issue comes when you work with real data at a business and real databases built way before you You'll get accurate syntax when you join tables but what are you going to do when you didnt give your AI model the context that it's a many-to-many join (because you didnt know) and you created a cartesian product and now you have millions and millions of more rows than you expected and all of this happened when you were on a call with someone so you need to explain what the heck you did but you never learned about table grains because all of the projects you did were built by AI with super clean data Dont be that person Learn the tools the hard way Then after you understand how it works you can rely on the shortcuts Knowing the tools is only the first half of the problem Second, is getting interviews I teach you the skills AND how to get interviews in Analyst Hive Let me speedrun you to a data job: https://lnkd.in/guByMtEk
