My mom is a teachers aid for special needs kids at an elementary school in her neighborhood. Yesterday there was an active shooter at the school. He shot through the glass to get the door open, saw one person, shot her, then passed 9 classrooms. After not seeing what he was looking for, he took his own life in the library. The lady who was shot is going to be okay. Thank God, my mom decided to stay home yesterday because she is recovering from a surgery. That didn’t stop her from grabbing a rosary and running to the school to be with the children as soon as she found out. Still not knowing whether the shooter had been apprehended. The lady who was shot is also a teacher’s aid and was likely covering some of my mom’s work while she was out. The shooter was only 19 years old. It’s sad to imagine what kind of hell his life was leading up to this. Please offer prayers for the people in my small hometown Waynesboro Virginia.

My #1 takeaway from the SENT Ventures Summit: I need to spend more time with my Father. No, not that guy. That’s 🧦 Scott Williams, MA - the sock guy. I also don’t mean my earthly father, Tim Coleman although we should spend more time together. I mean my Father in Heaven. The one who knitted me in my mother’s womb and knows every hair on my head. SENT made Eucharistic Adoration available for nearly the entire event. Peeling myself away from all the action with my favorite people was harder than I’d like to admit. But as soon as I feel to my knees in adoration God fed me a meditation. Imagine my son Cassius is 22. He’s back in town for spring break and so are all of his friends. They’ve got a ton of fun things planned, but Cassius tells them “Go ahead and start without me, I want to spend sometime with my dad”. How beautiful it would be if he happily made that decision on his own? That’s what adoration is. Quality time with your Father. And just like it would bring me tears of joy to hear Cassius make that decision, my Father in Heaven rejoices when I sacrifice the rewards of this world to be with Him. In that room, we grow closer, He untangles the knots I’ve put myself in, He melts my heart, He helps me to know Him and understands His will for my life. Thanks again to the SENT team for making this possible.
