About Key Williams

i help brands + creators tell stories that drive revenue and loyalty | formerly Google, BuzzFeed, GENIUS, Clubhouse, Westbrook | building @ WALTER + PEARL STUDIOS

hiiii, i'm Key. i spent years helping brands find their voice at BuzzFeed, Google, Genius, Westbrook Media and more, producing content with Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, John Boyega, and Alicia Keys.. that work generated 3B+ organic views. then i went all in on my own thing and WALTER + PEARL STUDIOS crossed 7 figures in revenue in year one. turns out betting on yourself isn't as reckless as it sounds. i'm currently building my dream life in public, the wins, the lessons, and literally all of the stuff i wish someone had told me, because people shouldn't just see the highs, they should also see the lows too. also, when something shifts in brand, tech, or culture, i'm usually the one yapping about it first. if you're a brand that's ready to push culture and conversations forward or a creative or entrepreneur who's tired of building other people's visions, you're in the right place. let's work: [email removed] 💌

  • it’s been 6 years since i’ve made a film. that’s wild to even type because filmmaking is the entire reason i moved to LA a decade ago. but.. life happened. i lost loved ones. i lost my confidence. work happened. disappointment happened. creating for other people happened. building brands, making content, running a business, all of it happened. lately, i’ve found myself being pulled back into other mediums of creativity where there’s no objective other than telling the stories i want to tell and that’s been freeing in so many ways. watching “if i go will they miss me” this weekend reminded me of that even more. walter thompson-hernández made the film for $120k, and i admire him for it. $120k is literally nothing in the world of film and he made one of my favorite movies ever with it. he didn’t use it as an excuse or wait for some massive studio budget to validate the idea. he use what he had to tell the story he wanted to tell. it’s been 6 years since i’ve made a film. 6 years of producing. building. pitching. directing for brands. helping other people make their ideas real. realizing how much can go wrong between “i have an idea” and “we got the shot.” 6 years of not publicly talking about my other dreams and ambitions because i’ve been afraid people wouldn’t take what i’m building at WALTER + PEARL STUDIOS seriously if they knew i had other dreams too. and tbh, i’m over it. we all deserve to explore the waters of every dream we have, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it. so i’ve been quiet on here because i’ve been figuring out what it means to bet on myself not in theory, but in a tangible way. and i now know that means way more than making a film or thinking positively. it’s: • how i spend my time + energy • what i invest in • what i learn • what i build • what i pour back into myself + others • putting money back into my ideas • meeting new people who are on similar journeys • taking the meetings • investing in my body so i’m healthy enough to see these dreams through • giving myself permission to share, explore, live and create i think we talk about betting on yourself like it’s a mindset. and it absolutely is.. but it’s also sometimes: • an invoice • a class • upgrading your equipment • getting off of that toxic social media platform • looking at your own life and getting honest about where are and where you want to go i don’t want to ONLY keep becoming better at executing other people’s visions while mine stay in Notion, so i’ve been actively changing that. so yeah, i’m working on another film. i’m working on more content. i’m working on me. i’m working on WALTER + PEARL STUDIOS. i’m doing all the things my heart desires because i refuse to be boxed in, especially boxed in by my own self. i have the freedom to create however i want to create.. i’ve been the only one stopping me. tell the stories you want to tell. love y’all. 💌

  • running a creative agency will have you doing a thousand different jobs all the time. meanwhile, the work you started the business to do is the work you rarely get to do. hate to see it. 🙅🏽‍♀️ i love the creative side of things: developing ideas, producing, figuring out what will make people respond, but running a business also means making sure everything else keeps moving when i'm away. that's what made me curious about viktor.com. my first question was: what could he actually take off my plate? i have tons of ideas, i just need support in executing them, so i decided to test it out and this is how it went. 🤔 📌 save this for when your to do list gets out of hand. ♻️ reshare for the creator who's doing 6 jobs before lunch. #ViktorPartner
