Turning Problems into Digital Solutions | Full Stack Developer | Next.js • Node.js • Express.js • React Native • FastAPI | Creator of roastmy.work & fluxideas.com
Two years ago I wrote my first line of production code. Since then I have shipped a healthcare screening tool running AI inference in clinics in South Africa, a multi-tenant portal with real-time chat and three-role access control, an international e-commerce platform serving UK and US buyers, a B2B ordering system used by hundreds of shopkeepers, and a 9-agent AI pipeline that placed top 10 in a national hackathon. I also launched my own product — roastmy.work — a community platform for brutally honest anonymous feedback. Real users. Real feedback. Built and shipped by me. I do not wait for perfect conditions. I figure out what matters, build it, and ship it. My stack is Next.js, React.js, React Native, Node.js / Express.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Supabase. But honestly the stack is a detail. What I actually do is take a problem, make technical decisions, and turn it into something that works. I run Sera Innovations — a small studio where I work with founders and businesses who need someone who thinks about the product, not just the code. If you are building something early-stage and need a developer who takes ownership — let's talk. 📩 [email removed]

Clean code as a bad goal on its own "Write clean code" is repeated so often it's stopped meaning anything. Nobody explains what you're supposed to trade off to get it. Clean code without context turns into over engineering. You'll see a simple function turned into five files, three interfaces, and a factory pattern, all in the name of "clean," when the original ten lines were perfectly fine and would've stayed fine for another year. Clean isn't the goal. Clean is a side effect of the actual goal, which is code that's easy to change when requirements shift, because they always shift. That reframe changes what you optimize for. Instead of asking "does this look clean," ask "if the requirement changes next week, how much of this do I have to touch." Sometimes the cleanest looking code fails that test badly, because it was clean for today's requirements, not for the ones coming. Write code that's easy to change. Clean tends to follow. Not the other way around. What's something you over engineered chasing "clean" that ended up harder to change later? #CleanCode #SoftwareEngineering #WebDevelopment #ProgrammingTips #CodeQuality
