About Lesego Igwe

Fintech & Payments | Revenue Protection Partner for Fintechs | Payments QA | Helping fintech founders & executives become impossible to ignore on LinkedIn

WHAT I DO: I do two things professionally: 💳 I help fintechs protect revenue. Through TESTEXCEL, I help fintech teams find payment failures before their customers do. Payments QA | Release Assurance | Scheme Compliance After 10+ years across banking, fintech, telecoms and payments, I know that a failed payment isn’t just a bug. It can mean lost revenue, abandoned customers and reputational damage. 📣 I help professionals turn LinkedIn visibility into inbound opportunities. I help professionals and founders position themselves better on LinkedIn, from profile optimisation and positioning to content strategy. Because being good at what you do isn’t enough if the right people don’t know you exist. WHAT I TALK ABOUT: 💳 Payments & fintech 🧪 Payments QA 🌍 African fintech 🤖 AI & agentic payments 📣 LinkedIn visibility & personal branding FUN FACTS: 🎧 My first job was as a call centre agent. I survived shifts, angry customers and plenty of “my airtime is always disappearing” calls. 😂 ✍🏾 I genuinely enjoy making complicated payment concepts simple. 🚀 I’m slightly obsessed with discovering interesting African fintech companies and telling their stories. • If this is how banking is done in 2026 then count me in. Last week at Seamless Africa, I opened a GoTymeBank account and had my physical card in my hand in less than 5 minutes. No running around. No physical copies of my ID. No proof of residence in hand. I entered my ID number, followed the steps on the self-service kiosk, and a few minutes later, my card was printed. The staff were friendly, which made the whole experience even better. What also stood out for me was what came after the onboarding. No monthly banking fee. And PayShap payments below R5,000 are free. Gen Z would be super stoked by this. Fast onboarding, instant card, no monthly banking fee. This is what good banking UX looks like when the friction disappears. GoTyme Bank, I was impressed.

  • ☕ Grab your coffee. We have a lot to talk about. This week in African payments looked quiet at first. It wasn't. 😂 Mastercard is bringing payments closer to WhatsApp. PAPSS is expanding and looking towards China and India. Stablecoins are finding practical payment use cases across Africa. And AI is getting closer to actually spending our money. Then there’s the Revolut story… 👀 Different stories, but one question kept coming up: As payments become easier, how do we make sure trust keeps up? This week’s edition of This Week in African Payments is out. Come, let’s talk payments. ☕️ #AfricaPayments #Payments #Fintech

  • A lot of us have been here. You may not be where you thought you would be by now. The business may not be there yet. The career may not be there yet. The dream may still look far away. But don’t let where you haven’t reached make you forget how far you’ve come. Sometimes progress is quiet. You’re learning. You’re growing. You’re becoming. So today, give yourself permission to appreciate the distance you’ve already travelled. You’re not there yet. But thank God, you’re not where you used to be either. Keep going. 🤍
