  • Are you a poser or a professional? Every skill set has an activity that tests whether you are the real deal or just posing for the gram.... It's been a while since I've jumped on the decks, but apparently I can still mix Vinyl. That's one of those activities that sorts the posers from the professionals. With photography, it might be shooting film or shooting in full manual mode. Can you still take a good photo? You might not think this matters, as we have so much technology that does everything for you these days, but I think it's a good test. When I'm hiring or looking for collaborators, I often ask them to do very manual, time-intensive tasks, just to see if they actually have the skill set required. What's a skill you are confident you would pass the poser test with?

  • What does your sales process look like from your ideal clients perspective? Where do they lose interest, what builds trust, what confuses them? It’s really difficult to know the answers to these questions because most prospects don’t tell you. At best they might give a vague objection like “we don’t have the budget right now” or “we decided to go with someone else” It got me thinking… What if you could hire real mystery shoppers for your agency? I go out and find your ideal client, then pay them to go through your entire sales process like a real prospect.. You won’t know they are a mystery shopper because we won’t tell you who they are. Then I interview them and break down exactly what they experienced at each stage.. Finally, I produce a report of all the places you are losing the sale. I’m thinking of testing this with a few creative agencies. If you’re interested, drop a comment below and we can have a quick chat to see if it would work for your setup Ps: thoughts and comments also welcome

  • What would your business be like if you treated prospects the same way you treat clients? I’ve been through a fair few sales and onboarding processes recently and let me tell you something Most are average at best I’m not claiming to be perfect but it’s certainly eye opening I try to treat prospective clients in the same way I treat actual clients My theory is that whether we work together or not, they are still interacting with my brand. They tell other people about it, and it leaves a lasting impression. Ps: this is the photo came to mind because this cafe has an unreal sales process. They make you feel like you’ve been a lifelong customer the first time you walk into the store
