About Nigel Hammett
Account Executive | Educator (Resumes, Tech and Sales)
The canvas is never blank—it's filled with opportunity. I'm Nigel Hammett, a tech sales leader and digital creator with 8+ years of experience helping startups and global enterprises grow through storytelling, strategy, and software. I specialize in AI, SaaS, and content infrastructure. My path into tech wasn't traditional. I grew up in Baltimore, MD, navigating the child protection system before breaking into the industry. That journey shapes everything I do today: mentoring overlooked talent, coaching career changers into high-paying roles, and creating content that makes complex ideas simple. Experience: Currently, I'm a Founding Account Executive at PatternIQ, an AI-powered ad platform that places brand messages inside everyday emails. As one of the first sellers on the team, I'm building go-to-market from the ground up—owning the full sales cycle, shaping positioning, and turning early conversations into revenue. Before the startup world, I spent nearly 6 years in big tech at Meta and Google. At Meta, I managed and optimized $10M+ in ad revenue across North American SMBs. At Google, I managed high-profile accounts—including Meta's Reality Labs, where the Ray-Ban ads portfolio grew 400%—against a $2B annual ad spend target, then moved to Google Cloud, where I hit 110% of quota, acquired 1,000+ greenfield customers, and generated $6M in pipeline across AI and cloud solutions. Career Education & Mentorship: I've coached 2,000+ professionals into six-figure tech roles and guest lectured at 20+ universities including Georgia Tech, ASU, and U of Chicago—reaching 100,000+ people in classrooms and online. I actively mentor jobseekers and creatives across three continents. Content & Global Projects: Through @nigelscanvas, I share my life as a tech professional and coach. My content—viewed 3M+ times—breaks down career navigation and tech trends across LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. I'm also involved in entrepreneurial projects in Jamaica, Colombia, and Rwanda focused on education, access, and digital opportunity.

All posts on LinkedInOvernight shifts at my local warehouse to Tech Sales! I was working the graveyard shift 💀 (IYKYK) & it taught me so much. That I can't do this long term or quite frankly ever again .. I told my shift manager that I was in college for engineering and I can do other things. My manager looked at me in the eyes and said "get back to packing the boxes". (that one hurt haha) Nobody claps for you at 3am. No likes, no title, no audience. Just you, a scanner, and a choice to keep showing up. If you're in your warehouse season right now, at a job that has nothing to do with your dreams, understand this: that badge says where you work. It doesn't say who you're becoming! I went from overnight shifts to tech sales, and now I help other people make that same jump. Going through a tough stretch? DM or Comment "guide" and I can send over a Linkedin Guide.

A scattered search reads as a scattered candidate. 2. Only looking on LinkedIn. Everybody is fighting over the same postings while career pages and referrals sit wide open. 3. Not connecting offline. One real conversation at a virtual event, conference, or a coffee chat up beats 50 applications. 4. Not being interview ready. If you can't say what makes you better than the other 50 candidates with your same experience, neither can the interviewer. 5. No portfolio or Loom video. You build it once, it sells you forever, and almost nobody does it. DM or comment "GUIDE" and I'll send you my LinkedIn guide. Want a quick 20 min call? No sales pitch, just free game. Say the word.
48 reactions · 6 commentsViewMy LinkedIn feed is starting to look like a locker room. (and I love that!) Jalen Brunson, posting here two weeks after winning an NBA Championship. Stephen Curry, taking his Underrated Golf Tour global. Tom Brady announcing his next partnership. Lewis Hamilton, whose headline reads "Entrepreneur, Investor, and F1 Driver" — entrepreneur first. These are people at the very top of the highest-earning careers on earth. They could coast. Instead, they're networking, building, and learning in public — preparing for the career that comes after this one. That mindset isn't reserved for athletes. Every career ends or changes eventually. The size of the paycheck doesn't exempt you. Build the network before you need it. Learn the business while you're still in the game. The smartest players are already preparing for the next one.
