This company continues to break my brain - raising $180M Series D just 6 months after their Series C, and I feel like this cracks the lid on what Profound is actually building for marketers. This isn’t AI Analytics. It’s full stack, AI enabled Marketing. Knowing what content to create, turning your visibility data into action, and essentially letting marketers build agents with a textbox. (Or better yet - proactive suggestions based on background context to automate parts of their job away, whether you manage the website copy, or are trying to figure out what topics to cover on LinkedIn that will help you win the right mentions in ChatGPT.) Their AI Marketer (Aim) agent kind of does it all, and this recent post from Morning Brew and Tenex Co-Founder Alex Lieberman on how he built an agent (that you can now also use) to power his custom AEO strategy is a perfect example: https://lnkd.in/gtVWKz-b Feels like they aren’t building a platform for the “AEO” part of the marketing org - but for the full team. They’re giving a live demo of the full stack later this month on Sep 30, if interested - https://lnkd.in/gKZSwWcn Really fun to see the ambition here. Congrats to the team, excited to see what they do with the money next 🙂 #ProfoundPartner
2 very cool things 1. we'll hit $1M in revenue in September - first month ever hitting the milestone 2. for the first time, our customers are starting to say "if you build this, we'll pay you for it, since you are already through our procurement process." I have always shied away from building things that we didn't have an elite advantage on. But somehow the ground has shifted and our customer relationships are now an advantage in themselves. This is making product development + customer discovery very, very fun. --- Not having taken venture capital has meant we have needed to maniacally focus. This has been great, in that it's allowed us to do the one thing we do really well... but if I could give myself candid feedback, it would be that we should have launched more things over the past 18 months. We are going to start doing that. more tk, all in the name of creating value between brands investing in content and publishers, and helping those producing that content drive impact and actually measure it
Gave a talk yesterday on the concept of Citation Lift, a new way of tracking the isolated impact of a given PR campaign on AI visibility/GEO. This feels especially relevant today, with so many brands investing in owned content/editorial. In short, we built a system that: 1. creates 50 prompts based on the topics you are about to get earned coverage for 2. looks at where you are winning mentions & citations already, from your owned media 3. then you get the earned coverage (in this case, through content distribution) 4. measures new prompts you are winning mentions & citations specifically from those new off page URLs. 5. Creates a really easy-to-read report on your "Citation Lift," aka where you are winning new mentions + citations, because of that campaign. Talking with GEO and communications leaders, one of the biggest concerns we've seen is being able to isolate the impact of a given effort -- this does exactly that. The exciting news: when a story is distributed to news outlets, we see an average 239% Citation Lift, aka brands are literally doubling their presence by syndicating existing owned media. Other news: you can read more about the full study our research team published here: https://lnkd.in/eDih7VRy
